we're the worms inside

Keeping The Stars

“Who are you?” the question came out in a whisper. Her words muffled by the dark.
“A Keeper.” was his answer. He smiled. His teeth coming to a point. Brilliant white against his night black skin.


“What happened?” she asked.
“You died,” was the answer. “. . Everyone dies.”
“Then why am I here? Shouldn’t I be. . ?”
“Somewhere else?” He smiled. A baring of his teeth. “Not everyone goes to Heaven.”
