DescriptionRandom Shooting Challenge.

I got this idea when I was watching an old episode of ‘Numb3rs’, but I think it would work with just about any US TV Cop show just as well.

Premise.
A city is in the grip of a ‘Sniper Panic’; two BtVS characters are walking along a busy street in broad daylight (they are there for a reason unconnected with the sniper). Without any warning one of them is shot by a concealed sniper.

Options.
It doesn’t mater which characters the writer uses, or whether the character is killed; if the character lives, however, he or she will be seriously injured and spend the rest of the story in ICU.

The surviving BtVS characters will want to investigate, whether they do this with the help of the police/FBI or not is again up to the writer.

What I want to see.
The BtVS characters will find the sniper; they will be 99% certain of the sniper’s guilt, but, they cannot prove it in a court of law (they collected evidence using magic or some other method that would not be admissible in court). The sniper has no supernatural/otherworldly connections and is just some human nutter who likes to shoot people.

What do the BtVS characters do?
Do they let the sniper go in the hopes that the forces of law and order can make a case against him at a later date. Or, do they take the law into their own hands and extract their own brand of ‘justice’?

Have fun!
