DescriptionThorne Smith was most known for his Topper stories, the body-switching story, Turnabout, and the movies made from them, but he wrote a few more books too. In one of them, "The Night Life of the Gods", an eccentric inventor, Hunter Hawk, develops a ring that can turn living beings to stone and back. He meets Megaera, a wood sprite who can turn statues into living flesh and back, and they fall in love. They also amuse themselves by turning the statues of Gods in the Metropolitan Museum of Art into the gods they were modeled upon, and the gods themselves have fun in New York.

At the end of the story, the world-weary Hunter and Meg embrace and turn themselves into a statue in the museum. I propose that it's time for Willow and Kennedy to wake them up, whereupon the four of them can have fun with the statues again. Of course, Hunter and Meg date from 1931; how would they deal with the changes in the world 72 years or more later?

The story shouldn't have explicit bedroom scenes; Thorne's books never did. But don't be afraid of having sexual content. In the original story, it was clear Hunter and Meg were lovers, and Hunter also assisted his niece in her quest to get her boyfriend to "remove her step-ins". They would not be shocked by Willow and Kennedy.
