and all the weird creature sightings were demons and such and that information was transmitted that way. Like in men in black the tabloids actually told the truth just no one believed them. Oh why don't you actually have Luna's mom have been a watcher and the council is thinking about recruiting Luna after graduation. Because she has an open mind and her mothers library.

While I like Hermoine she seems to be blinkered in that she seems to believe in only what she can see and doesn't seem to allow for possibilities.
so you have to have hermoine get in trouble with the fake things the quibbler prints about and how to defend oneself from. and the icing on the cake is that Luna saves her from the not real things that her family writes about.
