DescriptionWe've all read stories where characters have to be initially introduced to the True History Of The World, Buffy-style. Otherwise known as a speech starting with, "The world is older than you know..." It's usually given in a textbooky, lecture style by one of the main Scoobies: Giles, Buffy, Willow, Xander, Dawn.

It's time for something a little less dry.


The Challenge: Redo the speech. Introduce a non-involved character to the supernatural via an updated version.

The Rules:

1) It should be a speech or talk of some sort, and it should hit all the highlights of the original: Demons ruled, Slayer came, creation of the first vampire, etc.

2) Make a supporting character do it. Ideas: Tara, Oz, Anya, Gunn, one of the Sunnydale Potentials-turned-Slayers...

Bonus) Feel free to insert random comments about how hard demon goo is to get out of clothes or how bad vampire dust tastes when you get some in your mouth; offhand stuff about the everyday reality of slaying.


Points off for:

>The words "the world is older than you know" ANYWHERE in the story. The phrase is overused and seriously needs a break.
>Having any of the following characters do the talk: Giles, Buffy, Willow, Xander, Dawn, Angel, Faith, Spike, Wes


This can be a oneshot or inserted into a larger story. Other than that, have fun with it!
