In the sleepy little suburb of Sunnydale there exists an old Mob family, The Aurelius Family, led by Heinrich Nest. The family includes his adopted daughter Darla, Lts. Spike and Drusilla and his wayward son Angel. They have been in a generations long fight with another family, one hidden in shadows as it rules in the light, led by its current head Mayor Richard Wilkins III.

Buffy still falls in love with Angel, Jesse dies in a shootout instead of by vampire (can still have Darla kill him). Giles is still a watcher (only these Watchers are perriferally linked to the world of organized crime as chronicollers and intermediaries).

How will three teens survive in the dangerous world that lies beneath the veneer of their peaceful little town.
