| Description | Buffy never lost her telepathic abilities gained in Earshot. Or rather, the demon isn't even the reason she has them in the first place. She's been a telepath her entire life, a result of her mutation. She could hear other people's thoughts before she could talk. She's got better control of it than many telepaths twice her age. She's also kept it a secret from even her family, let alone friends. When she gained the aspect of the demon, she was so bombarded with thoughts because it was like her powers had doubled, and she suddenly had zero control. The freaked out reactions of her friends and mother gave her reason to continue her secrecy, so she let them believe she was cured when she lost the demon aspect and regained control. Besides, everyone was entitled to their secrets. So of course her secret comes bursting to light years later, after the fall of Sunnydale and beyond, when seemingly out of nowhere she's approached by an ex-Nazi hunter with a penchant for controlling metal and a ridiculously earnest (way too young and good looking to be a professor) telepath on a mission to recruit her and others like her. Did I mention this takes place in the 60's? Takes place in X-Men First Class, obviously. Not required, but encouraged: Pairings are optional, but I'd love at least a strong friendship developing between Buffy, Charles, and Erik. Buffy and Charles bonding over trying to protect younger sisters (and possibly Raven and Dawn doing the same about overprotective older siblings). Erik and Buffy duking it out without the aid of powers (Slayer strengh aside). Charles and Buffy commiserating over sharing living space with a bunch of teenagers that expect you to lead them. |
