| Challenge Name | Losing the Genetic Lottery |
| Challenge Type | Personal Challenge |
| Category | Marvel Universe > X-Men > Xander-Centered |
| Description | The premise of the challenge is simple; Xander is a mutant. However, unlike in every other X-men crossover out there, Xander's mutation either has absolutely no practical applications (i.e. is completely useless) or is more of a hindrance than an advantage. Prime examples of such mutations would be 'Beak', who got all of the negative aspects of the avian physiology without the benefit of flight, or 'Wraith', whose only power was that he had transparent skin. Alternately it could be something such as the ability to breathe underwater or flight, somewhat useful by themselves but, when compared to a being such as Professor X, Juggernaut, or Magneto, is comparatively useless. But... despite losing the genetic lottery and getting a completely useless mutation, Xander is still a mutant, and must deal with all of the problems that that entails without being able to rely on superpowers to get him out of it. |
