Challenge IssuerKrysstinia
Challenge NameThe Doctor's family
Challenge TypePersonal Challenge
Category Dr. Who/Torchwood > Buffy-Centered
DescriptionThe Doctor has at least two canonical family members that have been named: Susan, his granddaughter, and Jenny, his daughter from the planet Messaline. Both are special women and both have the potential to do amazing things. Add one more thing to that list, becoming the grandmother to Buffy Summers.

Either Susan or Jenny find their way to Earth sometime in the 1940s or 1950s, and meet a man. She gets married, finds a job, gets a house, and sooner or later, she has a baby (Joyce or Hank, writer's choice). Twenty-odd years roll around and Joyce and Hank meet each other, get married and eventually have Buffy.

Buffy still gets called in 1997, but how will being part Timelord effect her as a Slayer? Is her biology what makes her a surprise to the Watcher's Council? Does she and her half-timelord parent have the ability to regenerate, saving Joyce when she dies from her aneurysm? Will the Key and Glory play out the same?

Things I would like to see:

1.) The Doctor (and companion of your choice) finds out about Buffy and her parent and he stops by for a visit at least once before she moves to Sunnydale. Up to the writer if they know who the Doctor is to them. He stops by again after the move too.

2.) Buffy becomes a companion. Writer chooses when, how, and how long she's there. I was thinking at the end of season 2, instead of running away, she meets up with her (great-great) grandfather and he helps her cope.

3.) The Doctor takes Buffy on several adventures, and at least one of them must be an original idea. Fitting her into an episode is nice, but take the reader somewhere new. Up to the writer of any of the Scoobies go too.

Have fun!!
