|Description||Well let this be the first Oz the Great and Powerful challenge. After seeing the movie most people will agree that the one that got shafted the worst in the whole mess was Theodora aka the Wicked Witch of the West. She went from a starry-eyed and naive young woman to the Witch we all know pretty much because her sister Evanora did everything humanly possible to manipulate her and screw her over. Still it makes me wonder what could happen under the right circumstances? Could she be healed? Could she come back from the brink? What would it take?|
Well, since her own "heart" was destroyed by her sister's spell, I suppose it would take another "heart" to bring her back. Like say... the Heart of the Scoobies.
Simple challenge guys. Xander ends up in Oz sometime after "Oz the Great and Powerful." Whether you set it during the 1939 Wizard of Oz movie, in the 20 years between the two (playing with time travel somehow, obviously) or even pull a Wicked musical and have Theodora faking her iconic death and running in to Xander after is up to you. The basic premise is the "comfortador" of Sunnydale encounters yet another broken and powerful woman and works his personal magic to help save her from herself and bring her back to the light. Nothing complicated beyond that. Xander can be alone or have others with him. My only requirement is that Xander does not end up evil or dead and he ends up leading Theodora back to being "Theodora the Good" instead of the "Wicked Witch of the West." Their relationship can be a close friendship or a romance (which would develop slowly considering how Theodora's heart is damaged goods at this point) but somehow Xander will help her.
Oh, and if you set this in the intervening period where Evanora is still alive, any comeuppance she gets is all good. It's what she gets for going Emperor Palpatine on all of Oz. Come to think of it, that didn't work out too well for the Emperor either did it? Anyway, I would prefer Xander not reform Evanora given she was wantonly evil rather than compelled to be that way, although I leave that up to the author.
So let's see where this can go.
