Challenge Name"Slayer, not 'Layer'!"
Challenge TypePersonal Challenge
Category Multiple Crossings > Buffy-Centered
DescriptionThere's a lot of "Buffy Summers meets handsome vampire from other fandom and it's Twue Wuv!"-fics out there. A *lot*. Ignoring the fact that she's had at least 5-6 romantic relationships, and only two of those were with vampires.

So I want you to pick a vampire-centered fandom of your liking, and pair her up with one of the NON-supernatural characters therein. Male, female, whatever. As long as they don't have even the slightest hint of magic or being undead in them. Yes, dhampires of all sorts count as magic and/or undead for the purposes of the fic.

Note: the fandom *has* to be one focused mostly on vampires. Superhero-verses or sci-fi fandoms are right out. The romantic interest has to be 100% bona fide human with no strange heritage whatsoever.

Note 2: Buffy must, at one point, express aggravation that people keep thinking she's automatically into the undead just because of her relationships (both failed) with Angel and Spike. Bonus points if she actually says "I'm the freaking Vampire Slayer, not Layer!".

Note 3: NO BASHING. Of *any* character. It's IMO the dumbest practice in fanfic, and only paints the non-bashed characters as Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus of the worst sort. DON'T. Good heroes have flaws. Perfect cannot-fail characters are as boring as dust bunnies. Villains can be bashed all you like, of course, but don't pretend a heroic side character from either fandom (like, say, Xander) is a villain for the purpose of circumventing this condition. It's not cute and just makes you look a bit petty and small.

Other than that go nuts. Shorter stories work best for this kind of challenge, so 70+ chapter epics are not required. Unless you feel inspired.
