Challenge NameThe Council in Rebellion
Challenge TypePersonal Challenge
Category Television > Other-Drama Shows
DescriptionIn 1978, the BBC produced a television series in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, "An Englishman's Castle". It was an alternate history story, whose concept was that the British lost the Battle of Britain, Nazi Germany invaded and occupied England relatively benignly, and 40 years later, Britain rebels against Germany. Kenneth More, in his last acting role, plays the producer of a British soap opera about the British resistance of the 1940s. The Germans let the show go on to distract Britons of the present-day occupation. In a way, it was similar to "The Man in the High Castle".

How would the Watchers' Council deal with the occupiers? Some might collaborate, some might want to resist, but none want to let out the secrets of vampires and magic. Meanwhile, with Slayers showing up in the US, they can do little to watch over them, as communication with Germany's archenemy is quite difficult.

You can tell stories of the Council trying to survive the occupation, or of the Council during the rebellion. Perhaps English Slayers and Vampires come into conflict with the Germans. Perhaps a hidden Jew is Called as a Slayer, and decides to attack.
