I hope that you intend to finish this story at some point. It started out really interesting, and I love the 'little lizard dudes,' even if we don't know if they are male or female. I enjoyed Surface while it was airing and was down right pissed off that they canceled it after only one season. It was shaping up to be decidedly interesting, but then they just decided not to show it anymore. :(

Okay I have to say that I only watched one episode of 'Surface' I wasn't impressed and never watched a full episode again. However I am aware of the basic story (no details).

My main gripe is that I think you've used too much magic. The idea about Xander being stuck on the boat and can't stay away for more than 48 hours is great. The idea that he might be dragged back to a sunken wreak every two days sprang immediately to my mind! However, the other magic stuff I think is a little over the top (and the main reason I've only given this a '6'). Remember Willow is a bit weary of using too much magic. I always think that that would stay with her even after her 'Goddess' thing in 'Chosen'. But hay, it's your story and maybe you've got a good reason for doing it this way.

OK that's enough of my blather, keep writing.
