The first word that came to mind when I finish reading this was lovely. I really enjoyed this different ending to Objects in Space. I thought you nailed the characters, how they interact. And I loved Jayne watching over Simon. Just a great tale.

Amazingly in character even with the out of character action of killing Early. Well written and both humorous and sweetly sad. A man questioning his actions and yet knowing without a doubt that what he did was the right thing to do. Excellent internal dialogue. Hope you plan on continuing.

Ya, I tried my best to keep everyone in character dispite of the act of killing. It's nice to know someone thinks I succeeded. No plans for a sequel though, I think it works better as a one-shot. It's actually the story I'm most proud of the final result thus far.
