Instead of continuing into the SVU universe, you could have Xander going through CSI techs, you named two locations where there's a CSI show based, Las Vegas and Miami, really?
Hmm, that's an interesting idea, you could even bring in both CSI:NY and John Munch in a side trip to New York. Now there's a solution, don't involve SVU, just John Munch, and maybe Lenny Brisko, if you're feeling like involving someone else.

Excellent story here. Although I didn't follow H:LOTS as much as some people I know, I did enjoy the people and the characterizations, which you seem to have captured quite well.
And I would LOVE to Munch get involved in a Scooby investigation.
