Review of chapter "Reboot" from sdavidm
Review:
Interesting premise! Came here from another story that referenced it, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out, and whether Pegasus descendents will make contact with Earth.

There's a lot left unstated ... I'd love to see a few more chapters ... maybe 5000 to 7000 years in the future ... eh? :)

Review:
o.O *whistles* Oh, we SO need you writing for those two shows! Yowza! And I know I've read a response to this that was excellent, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of it, who wrote it or where I read it (stupid me)! It was an AU of the TNG episode "The Chase", wherein the Enterprise races Cardassians, Klingons and Romulans to collect the clues to solve an archaeological puzzle. *pounds head on table* I'll make sure to send you the link if I ever find it again (that is, if you haven't already seen it).

Amazing story, thanks for sharing it. :-)

Have you considered putting this fic up at http://www.crossoverfic.com/index.php? It houses all crossovers, not just BtVS and Angel ones. And it allows challenges. It's not as large, but it is another place for this fic that is a bit of a better fit. And, you know, archived in more places means more people will see it and there's more chance of people taking up your challenge.

Also, there's a dedicated SG crossover site at http://sgxover.hugosnebula.com/
Comments from author:
Thanks for reccing the site; I'll see about getting the challenge up there.

9/1 They're up on both sites, and I've left the series open on crossoverfic.com so anyone can add to them.

Review:
Um, it's not actually in the challenges section. I'm writing a response to it anyway; is there some way to link it to your stories w/o the challenge?

As for contradicting Trek canon, given the number of times Trek canon contradicts itself, I'm not exactly worried.
Comments from author:
Yeah, it was up in the challenges section, but it got deleted because I forgot that TTH's policy on challenges is to not host non-BtVS crossover ones.

And you're writing a response? SQUEEEE!!! That is so cool.

The only thing I can think of is if you put the link to the series in your author's notes or something. The series is called Third Time Around ('Cause the Ancients were the first great human civilization, The Atlantians (from Earth) are kinda the second, and the Federation is the third; well more like version two and a half, but that just doesn't have the same ring to it), and I may or may not write anything else in there. If I do, it will probably be just little snippets that only consist of one scene and don't actually cause interaction between the two 'verses, like I've been doing so far. That way, anything I write probably won't really interfere with anyone else's ideas.

By the way, one thing I kind of only hinted at in Reboot was that the galaxy life-starting process might not take long at all. Carter said "A process that should take several million years anyway, I might add.”

Should. But no one really knows how the Ancient device works, and you could just as easily have an advanced space-worthy Vulcan civilization able to make first-contact with Earth in a few thousand years as have the time-stall last a few million. Or you could have them sort of meet half-way. Or hey, maybe in a few hundred years, the Lantians put themselves in a time-stall or maybe they 'speed up' the Milky Way's evolution. You really get to choose how long you want Atlantis out of the picture.

And wow, this is a long reply. Anyway, if it turns out a lot of people are interested in this, I might have to make a place where everything can be housed, but unless that happens, a mention in your Author's Notes will be fine.

By the way, I LOVED your Rodney/Faith fic, and I think it's really cool that an author I like is writing a response :)

Review:
This is actually really good, in a depressing end-of-the-world sort of way. Okay, so it's not the end of the world but...
Comments from author:
Actually, the fact that this kind of had an uplifting ending is probably what inspired me to write The Devil Must.

Now THAT was depressing.

Review:
I'm highly impressed with this. There's so many possibilities for it, from the Atlantean remnant making something to watch over humanity (Q!) to seeking revenge on the Ascended and the Ori for what's happened...
Comments from author:
Thanks. And there are so many possibilities, aren't there? In fact, I may just have to write one of them... (scampers off to write continuation)

Review of chapter "Reboot" from RevDorothyL
Review:
Very intriguing -- it's the end, but it's the beginning, and how does everyone react. I'm particularly glad that your story has O'Neill making it to Atlantis with SG1. Good job writing Elizabeth Weir and John Sheppard, also.
Comments from author:
Thanks. I'm kind of an Elizabeth/John shipper, so I used Sheppard's point of view for most of this, but particularly when describing Weir.

That is so cool! What away to explain how far behind some of the galaxy we were and things like the Eugenics Wars.
Comments from author:
Thank you. "That is so cool!" is exactly what I thought when the idea hit me. If you know anyone who would be interested in writing a ST/SG crossover using this, please rec this. I would LOVE to see a story branch off from this idea.

Review:
You take a very grim view on the fate of the Stargate universe, don't you?
Interesting read though.
Comments from author:
Yeah well, this is a plot bunny that kind of attacked me last night. I was heading to bed when suddenly, "HEY! I know how the Stargate and Star Trek universes can be crossed without mangling each other's canon, erasing huge parts of each other's canon, using the alternate universe theory, or having a random portal/spacial distortion/gate malfunction/obvious plot device instigate the cross."

And yes, I know there are a lot of unanswered questions like "What about the Q? Borg? V'ger? All those times Star Trek people traveled into Earth's past? etc." I don't see those as plot holes, but as questions that can inspire fanfic writers to answer them in their own stories.

Hence, making this an open challenge and not going into super detail about the how's and why's of everything.
