Good Gods, that's bleak. And exceptionally well done. Paul Davis is one of my favorite characters and I wish the shows' writers would have done more with him. I love the way you have written him here, it is exactly what I can imagine him doing under the circumstance.

Wow. this was beautifuly written even as it was incredibly sad. You made me honestly cry while I was reading it. Its the mark of a good writer if they can invoke that much of an emotional response to thier work.

Wow! Major sadness, here, but beautifully done -- especially as Davis is counting off all the other human commitments he never was able to make, because of his commitment to the SGC: "This was the dream he had sacrificed all other dreams for." That was beautiful.

Let no one ever denigrate Paul Davis as a "mere paper-pusher" in my hearing! The man deserved a story like this, no matter how much it made me want to cry.
