~"Faith and Data at Data's quarters?"

I do believe that this may even qualify as a triple entendre. Way to go above and beyond!

Review:
I soooo crushed on Data in high school. Johnny Depp was so conformist.

This is such a nit, but I seem to recall from English class that "double entendre" referrs exclusively to sexual double meanings and there is another term for phrases of double meaning of a non-sexual nature. It starts with Z. I can't seem to find any reference to it anywhere. The teacher was lecturing off-textbook perhaps he was making shit up. He also claimed to have turned down a role in the original run of "The Fantasticks" and spouted of Bill Cosby monologues as his own.
Comments from author:
When I got the prompt, I thought so too, actually; then I went to webster.com:

Etymology: obsolete French, literally, double meaning
1 : ambiguity of meaning arising from language that lends itself to more than one interpretation
2 : a word or expression capable of two interpretations with one usually risqué

So, *usually*. But-- allowably not always? So the interplay between the two meanings of "double entendre" (ha) was what resulted in this storyline. =)

-- "I *am* fully functional," he said, blandly. --

You know, I've always wondered about that. And for Faith's sake, I certainly hope so! *g*

(Found this via the "101 Reviews" fanart collection, so I just had to come read your story.)
Comments from author:
Did you ever see the episode with Tasha Yar where-- I think-- everyone was intoxicated or something, and she dragged him off to see just how "fully" he was functional? =)

Now I'm going to have to go check out that fanart!

So, does Faith laugh or get mad when she discovers Data doesn't have a bed? Of course he may have remodeled since the series / movies ended.............

Very funny. I like how you play on your readers's expectations.

It's a FR13-story, so we are talking about linguistics only. Right?

*lol*
