Review of chapter "Lies, damn lies and statistics" from Jinxy
Review:
I read the first part of this series and also this story and thoroughly enjoyed both. I have only seen season one of X Files so I don't know who Alex is, but he and Faith go together well and I loved to watch them evolve from their initial standoffishness to the love they have now. I can't wait to read the third story.

Review of chapter "Lies, damn lies and statistics" from angelus
Review:
great story Faith is happy at least in the end don't know why she never had happiness
Comments from author:
Why did Faith not have happiness in the show? Because some people just don't I suppose Angelus.

It's like Darla, and Angel saying 'she never had a chance'. Because Darla a prostitute in the sixteen hundreds probably never did.

IN thank god you were here I hope I showed that a lot of what prevents Faith from being happy, is a genetic disposition to alcoholism, trauma from physical and sexual abuse. Guilt over having done bad things during her time in Sunnydale and L.A.

I notice in your reviews that you mention this often. You think Faith deserves happiness. Why? Because hey I love this character. Faith is brave and plucky. But why do you think think she should be happy. I'd be interested to know because I suspect your reasoning would be quite complex.

Review:
Aaawww. A good ending for a good story. Not too fluffy but still, it leaves me with a nice mellow feeling. The only problem I have is where I will find such a good read in the future...

Comments from author:
Thank you so much for all your reviews and encouragement. And fear not. I'm doing a final installment to this trilogy called Not the end of the world. Because you don't think I'm ending it there do you?

Not when the super cool psychotic Wesley needs Faith to bring down Angelus.

Not when Buffy needs Faith to protect the slayerettes against the first evil.

Not when Alex can get the chance to try and kill Wesley be appalled at Lorne, Wilow and Anya and have first evil come chat to him.

Who's Oz gonna end up with Marie or Marita have I decided yet?

Stay tuned.

Review of chapter "Only Children and Fools speak the truth" from MusesInspire
Review:
Very good! I like the transition. And I like the fact that Alex is able to get Faith to at least TRY and see someone who can help her sort out her issues. She's right... she'll never be 'normal'. But she can be 'sane'.

I like this. You did an excellent job! I'm interested in seeing what happens with Oz, though... I think that's an interesting plot development.
Comments from author:
Thank you I'm glad you found old Oz an interesting plot development. He is a discreet lover. Non sexist very new age. He sizzled up the screen with Verruca they were one of my favorite BTVs couples and he killed her for that free loading red headed witch. Why why?

It will be hard for Faith to find the right psychologist I thought briefly of Lilith from Cheers and Frasier, but it didn't cross over well. What a horrible woman, who would want to see her?

Review of chapter "The Truth Is Out There" from chajalive
Review:
Honestly, I do not see where critique would be necessary. This chapter is among your best of this story. Faith leaving is the natural consequence of Alex lying for so long about something so important. And nursing Wesley seems a perfect excuse. While I hate Wesley for taking advantage of Faith and abusing her so badly. Only someone who knows Faith so well can push all her buttons and make her feel worthless, a slut, and everything. While Alex being concerned about Faith is nice, he definitely did not run after her, did he. He did give her her sanity by treating her like a normal person, but that does not make him a saint. I had hoped Faith does not need him to be sane, and I still believe that only Wesley treating her like shit and Alex's betrayal make Faith vulnerable to insanity.

The sidestory with Marie and Oz does not seem forced at all, it seems rather natural for Marie to fall in love with her mentor. Whether you decide to develop it or not, it does not feel out of place.

Looking forward to the next installments.

Comments from author:
thank you very much for your review. I'm glad you liked this chapter.

It's true Alex did not run after Faith, he couldn't he had a job to do. If she had asked him to come get her he would have, but she didn't.

Alex is not a saint he is a sociopath. But he accepts his sociopathy it's done out of patriotism.

Faith is not a saint either, she is a sociopath too. Dd you not see her stake Nick out of pique even though he could save thousands of lives? Faith's sociopathy and natural killer instinct unlike Buffy's (Buffy has a natural killer instinct) keeps getting interfered with by her dysfunctional upbringing.

It's true Wesley pushed Faith over the edge again. But then she was bad to him first. Wesley and Faith are both beautifully dysfunctional.

I'm glad you're still not irritated by Marie and Oz. it encourages me to keep writing about them as a potential couple. Note potential. Maybe Oz will end up with Willow yet. Or bite Dawn and turn her into his werewolf love slave (joke)

Review of chapter "The Truth Always Hurts" from chajalive
Review:
Well, it seems lies do come back to haunt you. we shall see how Alex will deal with the fallout. I am sorry for Faith having her dreams broken, and loosing a friend like Kenny. I think she was redefining her feelings for Kenny with hindsight after his death. She would never have been able to settle down with him. I hope Alex did not take it to heart too much. Am curious where you are going with this.

Chaja
Comments from author:
You are completely right Faith's feelings for Kenny were clouded by grief they would never have worked out. They were not sexually compatiable.

You will hopefully be surprised as to how Alex and Faith deal with the fallout on this one. Feel free to criticise.

Review of chapter "Right here Waiting Part Two" from chajalive
Review:
This chapter was definitely different. More comedic in a way, though I think I prefer your normal subtle and more dry humour. Though I must say, Wesley hearing Faith speaking while dreaming was hilarious. Slayer dreams are supposed to be prophetic. Am curious how you will transfer this dream into reality.
Sorry for calling you an Australien. Didn't mean any insult. I guess your pen name should have been a clue.
Chaja
Comments from author:
I am not insulted Australians are great people. I'm just not one.

The dream wil be translated into reality bit by bit. it is indeed mysteriously prophetic. Thank you for telling me you didn't like the slapstick bits. Not this chapter 9 but chapter 10 is going to ooze angst. I'm going to make it R21 I think. So dysfunctional and depressing shall chapter 10 be.

Review of chapter "Right Here Waiting: Part One" from chajalive
Review:
Nice touch bringing Faith and Wesley back together (in the spatial not relationship sense). Faithya in Russia. That will be interesting.

I must say, your answers to my review are almost as much a pleasure to read as the new chapters you are posting. I had just recently started reviewing stories and your answers encouraged me to continue reviewing your and other stories.

You being Australien makes sense. What I mean is that your posting times differed from the US ones, so I was wondering where you were from. I myself am on European time by the way.
Comments from author:
Yes I post before I go beddiebyes. I am not an Australian by the way I just live in Australia. I'm a New Zealander.

I could have written about Faith's guided tour of the Kremlin and it was tempting but I had to move the story along because this was a long chapter.

Wesley and Faith are interesting as a relationship (not necessarily romantic) aren't they? I just loved 'Release' when they go into a demon bar together they were so cool. They so needed their own spin off series.

She won't take money but killing a good spirit is A-OK? Geez, this is really weird.
Comments from author:
No it's not a good spirit because the Lechie demon is going to grow to the size of Godzilla and destroy Moscow! Because it be will pissed off at the environmental damage in Europe

Unless of course our girl and Wes save the day.

Do you mean Faith being prepared to off the virgin? Yeah Faith can kill people no worries. She is a sociopath.

Thank you for your comment. I really appreciate reviews like this.

Review:
I knew about the FSB thing, but as I suspected and my Russian friend confirmed, it's mostly been an in-name-only kind of thing, and a lot of Russians still call it the KGB, especially when talking of the people in the FSB that are of the old-school variety or operations that don't vibe with the new image. Also, she says the Americans call it the KGB out of blatant ignorance or disrespect but mostly nobody cares either way. It didn't take away from the story for me anyway, so don't worry about things so much!
Comments from author:
Thank you very much for your reassurance. I was pretty annoyed at myself over that one. I thought my general knowledge was better than that.

Another thing I didn't realise was that Americans called carpark buildings - garages.

Still you live you learn.

Review of chapter "Existence" from PATM
Review:
This series is perfect for deconstructing our favorite series. I just watched that particular scene of the X-FILES episode you re-
work in this chapter while getting up for work recently. Skinner dead, c'mon please don't do it! The arm thing, Mulder shot down
and where is Scully? Is Faith's destiny going to come back to bite Krycheck on the pass? Are my questions even relevant? Who cares! I'm still loving the story.
Comments from author:
Well look here, if Krycek is not going to be a ghost in the chapter "The truth" who is huh? And having altered canon by letting Krycek live, I was prepared to go the whole nine yards and give him back his arm.

As I've had to go through every chapter so far in this series with a fine tooth comb correcting stuff like 'Alex pulled her into his arms'. 'Faith lay satisified in his arms afterwards.' Oops no.

I've had to think hard about how a man with one arm would make love in a shower and my brain hurts from it. Because I don't want anyone to think I'm poking fun at amputees, as I'm not!! I can't begin to think how hard it would be to lose a limb. Everything is so difficult when you only have one arm and to lose it as an adult. Next time I get the opportunity to donate to a charity that helps amputees I'm tossing in twenty bucks more than normal because of this story.

Where is Scully? Scully was in the hunting lodge having her first baby at thirty six years of age, mid-wifed by a whale communicating fruit loop who had never delivered a baby before. Scully had no problems like a breech birth if you'll remember. Scully and Mulder will reappear in the next chapter after this.
