Review of chapter "The last hope" from (Current Donor)JanessaRavenwood
Can't disagree more. The fact that Cordy knows people for whom this didn't work out (because Whedon has openly stated that more angst = higher ratings, so that's what they did) does not elevate the circumstances of those few people on one planet to some sort of universal rule. Annie should tell her where to stick it.

He should then proceed to milk the Jedi order for all the training they can give him, "graduate" or whatever they do, then quit, marry Padme, and thumb his nose at the Jedi cult whackos; now having full Jedi powers, none of the responsibilities, and he gets the girl. A happy ending for everyone but the Jedi - a bunch of nutjob cultists who deserved to get mowed down, in my not-so-humble opinion.

I liked it. It's got the kind of destiny vibe that the PTB tended to set on the shows. You can thank Spike for running a SW marathon yesterday that made me check this out. I'm glad I did.

I can see how Cordy's willingness to talk about ANYTHING (and the fact that she actually knows from experience whereof she speaks) could reach Anakin at a 'teachable moment', where the Jedi's doctrinaire insistence on "these are the rules, and you're a bad boy if you even question them" would only put his back up. The old Jedi Council was too much like the old Watchers' Council, and we all know how well their smugness and order-giving did NOT work for Buffy, much less for Faith. On the other hand, Giles learned to explain things to Buffy, to acknowledge her pain and the unfairness of it all, but still offer reasons why the fight was worth fighting. And Angel (very much in the empathic 'been there, and done that' manner that Cordelia adopts with Anakin) was ultimately the only one who could talk Faith into following a different path. If only . . .

You are assuming that he will pick being a Jedi over being with Padme (when you say "no little Skywalkers running around"). What would happen if he chose love? =]

***Part added after reply***

No, I mean if he truely chose love over being a Jedi. If he completely left the Jedi and all involved (Palpy included) and lived as Padme's husband. The trouble mostly came from trying to do both, in my opinion. But maybe I'm misreading something. =S
Comments from author:
did you WATCH ep. 3-6? bad stuff happens.

Yeah, I thought about that too, but I can't imagine Anakin ever actually leaving the Jedi, since it was something he's wanted to be his whole life. I agree that a lot of the trouble came from trying to do both, but I also think that his jealousy was a big part of it.

Nice start. Cordy would be perfect if she ever met Darth Sidious/Palpy. I'd love to see her humiliate him or any Sith.
