Review of chapter "Chapter Three" from terrence
Review:
I loved the grittiness and brutality of this. The military approach to the slayers and co. Really, just loved it all.

Review:
So Council went evil and Xander and company had to try and stop them. It is the only explanation that can make any sense with Canon.

Of course it is completely believable in that Season 7 Buffy was little different than most budding villains in her actions. She was consistently endangering the normal people around her by keeping a mass murdering rapist in the house. She constantly used "might makes right" and "end justifies the means". Perhaps when she was brought back in season 6 it wasn't her soul but a demonic one and with the empowerment it spread to all the Slayers. Makes perfect sense.
Comments from author:
I'd say that's a pretty good analysis to explain a lot of what happened in 'Dark Futures', except for one little thing...DF's is nowhere near canon in many ways;

a)Riley and Buffy never met, the soldier program collapsed, but Riley instead stayed with the military instead of leaving. An effect of the Initiative was it made the military fully aware of the supernatural, its potential and threat to everyone.
b)Yes, the Council was evil in its attempted control of the Slayers and everything else supernatural, good or otherwise.
c)Xander knew Buffy, but he stood by his hatred of demons instead of it moderating over time.

D)Buffy came back with her soul, not a demonic one (good idea though, never thought of that :) Overall, the story is just meant to be a *much* darker world that became aware of the supernatural one and their fear of it, which in turn led to their very human reactions when faced by something they didn't understand.

Thank you very much for your comments (I might actually borrow that demon soul idea for something, Thank you!)

Ooooooooooooookay,
Apparently it's Rhyming Review Day,
So I have to rhyme everything I say,
But bollocks to that is all I say.

Great story, unexpected with Xander, but I can see why. I'm interested to see how this ties in with LOTR. From reading the other reviews it would appear it does. So I'll be back to review a later story I guess.
Comments from author:
Thank you, and it wasn't supposed to be a lead-in into the LotR's quite honestly. The end with them fleeing through the gate was going to end there in that unknown new world, but my fellow writers in crime felt that it would be a horrible way to end it since it was very open-ended there to begin with.

Great rhyme :)

Very glad to see Kennedy out of the picture and really do hope things work out between Willow-Faith-Buffy. Fascinating story I have to say. Still wondering what happen with Xander, did he have a mental break down or a curse?

Comments from author:
Wispr,
It wasn't so much a mental breakdown or a curse really. Xander's always had issues with the supernatural starting with losing his friend Jessie to the vampires, then Angel, Spike, Ethan Rayne, Faith (especially Faith) and so on. It's really more of a matter of a progression here since with a good amount of prodding by someone he trusts to remind him of the abuses by those who have such unbridled power to move to want to remove that entirely and protect people from being hurt by them. Throughout the show Xander never trusted magick or the supernatural creatures and he never wanted Dawn hurt nor did he know what the people such as Anne really were after. He was much to his misfortune, well-meaning in his intentions, but allowed himself to be manipulated.

Very interesting beginning and how you had the governments react seem plausible. I do hope there is an explanation for such drastic changes in Xander and Riley personalities.

Thank you and in the part two we do actually explain why the changes with Xander and why he does what he did.

Review:
Awesome story! I'm really curious to know what would have happened to make Xander turn against them and want them all dead. Doesn't seem like Xander. Didn't think anything could ever make him turn against Buffy and Willow.

Other than your raping of Xander's personality it seemed like an interesting story.

So I was re-reading this, as I love the series, (and totally hope that Xander finally gets what's coming to him) and couldn't help but wonder about how the slayers felt at the beginning of the war with killing people. After all, that's the one thing that Slayers shouldn't do, as we all saw what happened to Faith after her accident. Just a quick question. Maybe you could address it in another flashback. Love the update on the next story, looking forward to more soon. Hope Buffy can get back and be happy.

Other than the betrayal by Xander, interesting story so far. Need more stupid Earth men killed though. Love that they must now contend with the demons alone now. Perhaps Melkor could come to Earth and make it his "paradise".

Review of chapter "Chapter Three" from Knolli
Review:
Interesting, but I have several comments to make:
1: The same as Kimera, only not as harsh, but in answer to Riley would never work for a goverment again... Huh? I've believed that he did!
2: Willow uses a magical weapon of mass-destruction, how did Xander survive THAT? And is Willow again dark-veiny that she would do this to anybody innocent in the area? And this circle has an area of aprox. 7853 square-kilometers....
3: The highest rank in the German-Army - The Bundeswehr - is not General-Feldmarschall (that was to the times of the WW II) it is Generalinspekteur
der Bundeswehr (General-Inspector of the Bundeswehr). Anybody german who has knowledge of the Bundeswehr, or has served with it would get long teeth with something like that. A Joke: No, our chancellor is not Hitler either, it is a woman called Angela Merkel.... ;)

Ciao!

uh...I didn't get why Riley and Xander wants to kill "non-humans". Maybe too long a time of being a zeppo?

WOW! Definitely a twisted plot. I've actually never been a Xander fan, so I have no problem whatsoever with him being the villain of the piece. Can't wait to hear what happened in the past to cause him to betray his friends. :)

Review of chapter "Chapter Three" from Kimera
Review:
Okay I read the story, and I really didn't like it. First of all I don't believe for a second that Xander would ever betray anyone like that unless they are evil. Come on I mean that Xander's greatest trait is that he is very loyal and would do anything for his friends. He considers both Dawn and Willow as his sisters, so there is no way he could betray them. You really need to watch BTVS to understand on how you need to portray Xander correctly. Second is that Riley Finn is also portrayed incorrectly. I mean did you watch any of the Fourth and Fifth Seasons of BTVS. There is no way that he would think he is the equal of any slayer in hand to hand or hand to knife combat. Thirdly WTF were you thinking when you have both Riley and Xander joining up with a government agency put together to fight the supernatural. In fact quit writing this story until you have watch BTVS. In fact concentrate on the Fourth Season of BTVS so you can get their reactions that their dealing with the "The Initiative" and why Riley and Xander would never join them.
