Illyria's kinda fun. Like the way a runaway bulldozer is kinda fun.

Review of chapter "U.S.S. Enterprise (No Bloody A, B, C, or D)" from Clavell
Review:
Damn... this crack-induced series of ficlets got nominated? Not that it's bad, in fact, quite the opposite is true, I love your Illyria stuff, it's just that I didn't expect *this* to get nominated for a CoA :). You certainly have a femmeslash fixation for ol' Smurfette, don't you? Keep it up, Joe, and while you are at it, maybe you can re-start Road Trip once your other WIP are done :).
Comments from author:
Well, most categories required finished work that was finished in the last 18 months. Most of my stuff is either WIP or older than 18 months.

I seem to remember someone writing a story with Madison/Illyria pairing. It also had Dawn/Chip if I remember correctly. I could have sworn you were the author, but I guess I was wrong. Of all the pairings in this collection this is the one I would most like to see you expand. Would it help if I said please?

Fun stuff. I love Illyria, and this was, again, fun stuff. Thanks for writing this, bye for now. And yes, I too think that most of these could be expainded but... they're just fine as one shots.

Seven and Illyria are an interesting match. They would appreciate their differences and similarities. It was fun too.

Review of chapter "U.S.S. Enterprise (No Bloody A, B, C, or D)" from Valkyrie
Review:
Man, if it took her a hundred years to get promoted to Lieutenant, that's a really slow learning curve.
Comments from author:
The MACOs and pre-Federation Earth's Starfleet were two separate organizations. Illyria went from being a member of what was essentially the marine corps, through a few other careers since she's immortal and not really going anywhere, and then joined the UFP Starfleet as a cadet, went through the Academy, reached the rank of lieutenant, and then went back to teach at the Academy. She just didn't acquire any further promotions because being a lectern jockey wasn't anything really noteworthy in Command's eyes. Now that she's back out in the field, she'd logically begin working her way upward again... or maybe not. She's one of Spock's subordinate divisional heads; not really a position where she can do stuff that gets her attention.

Interesting bit of work you have here, to say the least.
True, your treatment of characters like Tom or Peter might be a bit... excessive..., but some of your pairing ideas are definitely interesting; I'm particularly intrigued by the possibilities of Illyria/Madison, with the references to Illyria potentially having a 'Zord' form (Any chance you could expand that idea into its own story at some point?)
Comments from author:
I kinda found Tom and Harry to be Simpsons-esque characters for most of the series. It's like Bart and Lisa, the prankster and the brainiac. Yes, Tom is a shallow Casanova. Harry's a naive little boy compared to everyone. We get it. It got old fast.
As for Madison, I was pondering it. I need to find the DVD I have with the episodes on it.

Review of chapter "Cybertron (Sorta)" from Shieldage
Review:
Hmm, I think Wise just said, in a well constructed way, with a nice rhyming scheme: For though I may cry for awhile, my heart confused, something about you makes my thoughts abound with bliss and joy. It's with due respect and love tinged with regret that I say: "Though you won't dally with me, Illyria, I am content just loving you."
Anyway, good stories :D

O_o
You scare me. But thanks for the review anyway. :)
