Hm, I don't know if I really see Jack doing this. He survived Charlie's death after all. He's had years more experience to draw from by this time and he knows that death comes in war. That said he is still human and we all have limits so it still works for me.

I love your writing and have enjoyed every story of your's that I've read. Except this one. Sorry. It's well written, but just too damn depressing. *goes off in a blue funk*
You warned me, and it was hard to take, but I can definitely see O'Neill choosing that course of action, under those circumstances (however AU they are, since Jacob died with Selmac in the primary universe of SG1, about the same time Pete and Sam broke up and O'Neill left the SGC). However, with none of his "family" left and the war against the Goa'ulds won (and no Ori to complicate things), I don't see Jack O'Neill sticking around much longer. Sad, but well-done.

This was written before the end of season 8 and I *hate* the way they offed poor Jacob/Selmak. They deserved better.
