So now Jacob knows that Sam and Xander are alive. Will Daniel let them leave to carry that news back to Earth? Or will he convince them to keep the secret somehow? I can't see Jacob agreeing to keep the news that Sam is alive from her husband! It looks like Nimue may be back soon to offer her opinion. Poor crucimentened Slayer :( Definitely not her day.

Fantastic update. I really liked Buffy forcing the current Slayer to see the truth of the Watcher's Council (& her Watcher in particular)...also liked the interaction w/ Dru & Spike. Especially LOVED Buffy's suggestion that Spike hunt human predators. LOVE LOVE LOVE! & Aurora with Sam & her dad was pitch perfect--hilarious that she wants to marry Xander. & I liked that Sam told her dad that Daniel is Aurora's father. Wonderful chapter, can't wait to see what happens next!

The Watchers being servants of RA -- of all the recently-blown-up, snakey, wanna-be gods in the universe -- is a really fascinating twist. And now Buffy/Nimue has the chance to return little Janet to her father, who's the guy personally responsible for blowing the Watchers' evil former overlord to radioactive smithereens.

Bethany seems to be dealing alright, but I wonder how fine she'll be doing when all of this sinks in. Even if Nimue saved her life, making a truce with a vampire, and feeding her watcher to it, can't have endeared her to the young slayer overmuch.

I'm greatly enjoying the conversation between Jacob/Selmac and his daughter. I can't wait to see what Daniel brings to the mix. How long until Nimue gets back? I can't imagine they'll just let Jacob leave without her go-ahead. And what will become of Xander?

What will the council think of Giles being cured?

I'm really enjoying this darker Buffy. & I love that Dru sees her as Mommy. Maybe Spike & Dru can move to Buffy's planet. & I'm glad Bethany will soon know the truth about the Watcher's Council. Terrific chapter!

Thanks for the review. It's fun doing a darker Buffy who isn't constrained by the Council but still wants to protect most people. Too bad for the Council that, with the exception of Giles, they don't qualify as most people.

Everything seems to be going so well for everyone and then SG1 turns up in Sunnydale to screw up Buffy's plans! I hope the watcher talks fast or they will be still there when SG1 arrives. Hopefully Janet recognises the soldiers as her Dad's friends and Buffy won't want to kill them in front of her newest Slayer to be. Otherwise I'm not sure how they are going to get out of this without casualties on both sides. If Spike or Drusilla get injured can a sarcophagus heal them?

Umm, not making any promises. As for putting a vampire in a sarcophagus, pretty sure that's a bad idea.
