I'm a little annoyed I didn't know you posted this piece! *grins* I must say, the smut was great but I loved that they forgot to say hello. *grins* Fantastic job hun!
I went back and re-read this story from the beginning for starting this chapter, a reminder of where we left off, and what I found was a story so sad, tragic, and heartbreaking. The lonliness that radiates from both Buffy and Dean is so very honest and true to the dark sides of their character, and that they can find release and companionship, if even for a moment, with each other is beautiful, and all the more tragic for the transient life that they live, and with the surety that because of the dangers of their lives, they will never have normal, never have forever - never even have the sure bet of middle-age.
As I said, sad, but very beautifully written.
WELL DONE!

Thank you! I like the idea of Buffy/Dean but I have a hard time writing flowers and sunshine where they're concerned. I just can't see them sitting down and doing normal activities or even allowing themselves to admit how attached they are to each other. The shadows in their pasts stretch a little to far for the happily ever after to happen or at least that's how my muse always portrays their possible-quasi-relationship.
Thank you again and maybe I should take a break from the angst and write some Buffy/Cam fluff. ;)

good writing:)

I just can't write Dean and Buffy in a happy relationship. I think the angsty stuff works better for them unless it's a one-night stand.
Thanks!

Beautiful as always, and bittersweet. I love how Dean has that moment of wanting to be more for Buffy, "the" guy, the one she always dreamt of. Funny though, how Buffy doesn't really need normal, and I think would handle a relationship with distance involved, he'd only need to be the kind of guy to commit. Which I do think he could be if he weren't so afraid. Great vignettes, beautifully written as always.

Oh Ava, this was just so beautifully written and heartbreakingly sad. Poor Buffy to be caught in a life that she doesn't want, doesn't have anything going for, and yet unable to just leave it all behind to join Dean on the road. And you know I'm not a big fan of Buffy/Dean, but you make me forget that because this is so beautifully written.

*beams* I made you like a Buffy/Dean story! That means my work here is done.
While I do like the couple and think they complement each other I do not think they would have a healthy relationship and I'm trying to make that come across in this story. It can't always be sunshine and kittens and unfortunately that's how this couple gets portrayed a lot of the time even though (in my humble opinion) neither character has ever acted like that. So I decided to buck the trend and give them a dark and twisted relationship. Which is probably why I'm on Team:Hellfire. ;)
How do you do that? So little actually taking place and yet so much going on. Unbelievable. Well, very believable actually. You make my heart ache for the both of them.

For some reason I think that if Buffy and Dean did ever get together they'd have a hell of a'bunch of road blocks thrown up in their way. With this story I'm trying to realistically portray that. Thank you for taking the time to review.

Wonderful story with an insightful commentary into Buffy's survival. As always, your language came across like some vivid painting, giving color, both stark and rich, to the emotions running within your piece. Dean was a great pick for this. Loved it. :D
