Tales of a Traveling Reaver: Meeting Xander

Review of chapter "An Unpleasant Encounter" from Blacklord
Review:
At the end of Defiance and even without the Wraith Reaver, Raziel is extremely powerful for the Buffyverse standards (not nearly as strong as the real higher ups such as Illyria and/or TPTB, but he is at least in near Glory levels of power). You might want to write something from his POW to explain how he is taking the restraints he is operating under... he took the Elder God's offer in Soul Reaver 1 only because he wanted revenge and was quite quick to reject obedience in Soul Reaver 2. He is unlikely to take a new kind of servitude well.

Regarding his meeting the "Scoobies"... Unless Raziel accepts that Buffyverse vamps are feral idiots, barely better than the hyperevolved "deranged jackals" he fought upon returning from the Abyss, Buffy is going to have a rather rocky start with the new kind in the block. Raziel meeting his vampire-hunter human self did nothing to endear him with the Sarafan... and in Defiance he had to battle Moebius' vampire hunters. Not a good mix.

But enough with my ranting.

The story could be better, the chapters longer and so on. But the premise is interesting and this has lots of unexplored potential. More soon, please.

OK, I know nothing of the cross-over world. You stated that Rasriel (or however you spell his name) was vampiric, yet he didn't need an invitation to enter Giles' home. You might want to clarify why that is, and what other powers and restrictions he will have (have to drink blood, sunlight "allergy", etc.) in the world he now finds himself.

Also, what else is AU in this universe, besides Buffy not finding out until this late date about the "lie" regarding Angel's resouling. On the show, she found out in season 3 (I believe), and there was fan-grumbling about how she barely seemed to react. How far post-Chosen is this, that Buffy was not in Europe, and Xander wasn't in Africa (or was it prior to them going to those destinations)? Did something else happen to set Buffy off? This seems like a very extreme reaction, considering all that has happened between the time of the "lie of omission" by Xander and her going psycho on him. More background is always of the good. =] I will be watching for updates in hopes of getting answers to my questions!
Comments from author:
Okay, I guess I should clarify things more. In the next chapter, I will try to explain more about Legacy of Kain or leave a link to a page that does. For now, Raziel isn't really what you would think of as a vampire. He is/was DEFINITELY a vampire, just not one that is/was similar to BTVS.

As to the other issue, I'm not entirely sure how AU this will get. I have an idea as to where I want this to go, and how to get it there. But I'm still not sure what I'm going to use to get it TO GO there. I'm sorry, but some details are still a little fuzzy in my cosmic vision of this fic. I'll try to address your questions as the answers come to me.

Thanks for the comments and please keep reviewing!

Review:
great chapter but would have liked some first person of buffy, willow and xander in the confrontation (shrug) then agian I always want more, I'm greedy like that :)
Comments from author:
Thanks for the idea. I hadn't really thought about a first person view from them of the confrontation. I think I might add one in an upcoming chapter during a flashback. I warn you, I haven't much experience in writing those, but I'll give it a shot.
I'm loving this feedback. The more I get, the better I can make the story!

Review:
This shows promise, especially when Buffy tries to kill Xan again.

Question: Having only played a demo, is Raziels vampirism transferable? He seemed to have no problem with sunlight or holy symbols.
Comments from author:
An Answer to your question:
His vampirism, is a complicated matter due to his status as a wraith. He probably couldn't transfer his vampirism because he is technically no longer a true vampire of flesh and blood. In this story, I gave him the ability to shift forms so that he would freak everyone out where ever he went. I figure that if he has a true vampire form, he might be able to transfer his 'gift'.
As to the matter of Holy symbols, I don't think they affect the Nosgothian vampires. (Nosgoth is the world where Raziel came from) Sunlight doesn't affect Raziel, but it does affect lesser Nosgothian vampires. I hope this answers your questions, feel free to ask more if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the review!
