Very cool, thanks for turning this into a series. Nice digest of the books in Xander's speech :)

Nice blending of the books/movie and the Buffy concepts ;)
Comments from author:
Glad you're enjoying these! The two worlds do seem to fit together nicely - and I'm hoping the muse will provide more at some point.

If nothing else, I should allow Buffy to wrestle a crocodile or two ... *g*

Review of chapter "Somewhere on the West Coast of Africa." from Dragonelf
Review:
Vando, vando rea!

I got a serious flashback when I read the word tarmangani (great white ape) and I think there is way to few Tarzan crossovers.

EDIT: I had to think for a while before I could convince my brain to release the few Mangani words I remembered. A story contains a lot of words and this was a good story and since I don't remember if the Mangani got a specific word for stories I used "rea" which means "word"..
Comments from author:
Way too few ... although it leaves me with lots of room to play with the idea!

It's 'zu-gogo' for stories (as I explain in the next one ...) but the Mangani tend to say it as they see it, so 'good word' is perfectly acceptable. And a very nice compliment. Thank you.

Oh my gods, my brain did that whole screeching tires 180 turn double take when I spotted the title of this story. I loved these stories when I was a teenager and this was a brilliant crossover. Thank you so much for writing and sharing this, nicely done!
Comments from author:
Glad you enjoyed it. :-)

(And nice to see that someone recognised the reference in the title! *g*)

Review of chapter "Somewhere on the West Coast of Africa." from Cutiepie
Review:
Boo! Hiss! You marked it as complete! This was way too good to have it be a one-shot like that. I would so like to see more.

As for how Alice died before her watcher, this is Africa after all. And there are a great many demons who might well have been hanging around the area. So, it doesn't give me any problems that perhaps she died in the defense of her family. And then, without the slayer to attract the supernatural attention, the watcher and his son could have gone that next year without being bothered. Ooh, so many things to explore. Please tell me that you are going to write some more in this crossed-over universe? Please?
Comments from author:
Well, according to the book, there were leopards and lions and strange ape like creatures hanging round the cabin all the time. So demons? Almost a certainty, I'd say. And it's entirely possible that the great apes (an unknown species and not gorillas, as Disney would have you believe) where themselves a demon tribe ...

I'm not sure about any more - It certainly begs for further exploration, but I'll have to wait for the muse to strike, and I have all this other stuff I'm supposed to be working on. We'll see. But I won't make promises. :-)

Great fic! Very original and unexpected cross.
Comments from author:
Thanks! I'm vaguely surprised no-one seems to have done this before. With the number of 'Xander in Africa' tales around, you'd have thought he'd run into Tarzan long before now!

Very interesting. Made me want to find the original ERB books.

Oddly enough, the first few are now in the public domain. The original book is available as full text on the web ...
