This story, and the entire series...FANTASTIC.

out of all the stories in the series this is my absolute favourite I think

Oh, angry that no one ever wants to believe Dawn when she finally tells them the truth. At least Jean-Claude is more open. I mean, just look at Dawn, listen to her and you'll know she isn't just some smart 5 year old.

I like these missing scenes-the different POV's help expand the story and understand what everyone else is really feeling and thinking about Dawn.

I laughed a lot, and I shivered some too.

Dawn was great, the swan/water/ducklings was so cute. I would very much like to see more interaction between Dawn and the vampires.

This is my favorite Dawning Light Interlude so far. I love the interaction between JC and Dawn. And I'll have to say that the "puking swan" was priceless! I'm going to giggle every time I see a swan now.

Excellent as always, but I would prefer that you kept the story more together in one thread.

This is an excelent addition to the story. I like how it helps to flesh out some of the othwerwise behind the scene's information on whats happening in the world as well as giving us an 'outsiders' view of Dawn.

I've pretty much been giggling hysterically for this entire chapter, though I was a little confused about Dawn's reaction to the painting of Jean-Claude, Asher, and Julianna. But, I may have overlooked something in an earlier chapter.

I love your characterizations-perfectly spot-on, to the last detail. Very nice, considering how hard it is to meld characters from two universes and stay true to each character's quirks.

Loving it, and can't wait to see where you go from here!

This was... incredible. I do so adore your Jean Claude, so much. I love how he's the only one to consider the fact that Dawn isn't all she seems, love Anita's protectiveness and instant mode of denial over Dawn. Everything was just so lovely and well done. Beautiful work as usual. I'm really looking forward to seeing them all find out about Dawn's status as a teenager, and what they'll do. And also, is it as Dawn fears? Have the Scooby gang forgotten her? Lots of questions about the actual WIP, but this was just brilliant work.

This was a very enjoyable read. I was impressed with Jean-Claude's observations about Dawn and how he interacted with her. It's nice to see Anita so caring and maternal towards Dawn.

Loved it! So many great details bring the characters and the story to life. After Dawn's reaction to the painting, I'm looking forward to Asher and Dawn's first encounter.

By far the most fascinating installment yet in the Dawning Light series - I love how quickly JC picked up Dawn's advanced functioning, and especially how you implied that Anita already noticed it and was in complete denial...

Those who say denial is just a river in Egypt have never encountered Anita Blake. She's in a class of her own :)

This story is both funny and spooky. Funny for the bits of Dawn and JC interaction, poor JC was soo out of his depth at first. Spooky for the end bit of JC the master planner. (And why do I suddenly have this image of Dawn calling JC "The Master Planner" and telling him he has to go "Bwan-ha-ha" and rub his hands. "Like you're planning to take over the world.")

But Jean Claude is a survivor first. He's got not only plans A, B, C and D, but plans E, F, and G as well and probably H, I and J as backup plans for good measure. I can see him imaging where a powerful child like Dawn could be useful in holding the city and his position. He'd be a good "Uncle Jean Claude" to her because that would get her long term loyalty. (He does know how abuse can hurt and twist children and I'd imagine that he would never do that to her. And I'd like to see what he would do to someone who might try to hurt her! Angry JC is a scary image.)

I can see him 'baby sitting' Dawn even more. Or getting her lotsa' books. Paying for a tutor for her, perhaps? A highly intelligent, powerful adult Dawn would be a great addition to his "city-dom." (Called city-dom rather than kingdom as he's the Master of the City, duh.)

And I do think you got his character down well here. That thing of finding out whether or not Dawn can read his mind was perfect JC talk.

Looking forward to more Dawn/Jean-Claude moments!
