The thought of an older, still deadly former 007 tearing a broad swath through Sunnydale is just too good to be ignored.
I do have to say, it may have been by the workings of the wish but the Kalderash finally being sensible enough to let vengeance be undertaken by the experts is refreshing.
And Lady M being one of the followers of D'Hoffryn makes perfect sense.

M. I didn't think you had it in you... I always knew M was impressive, but damn. That was one hell of a twist.
Yes, I believe that Bond could have fathered children and then left the picture, he was much too much of a 'ladies man'. And that life and death, living on the edge thing tends to get people's hormones going...
So, a man that looks like Sean Connery as dad... Wow. Wouldn't want that Bond after me, even if I were a 250 year old vampire.

Interesting choice for the daughter! And M as a vengeance demon, I didn't see that one coming. It'd be interesting to actually see Bond in Sunnydale trying to avenge her death. Great story.

Like how Bond is retired, his cover story. He was happy to be a sperm donor for the gypsies eugenics programme eh? Well it was the sixties I suppose.

Thanks - the whole thing is James Bond canon, from the original book From Russia With Love. There's a fight in which several men of the gypsy tribe are killed. Bond helps fight off the bad guys, he is then asked to help keep the tribe going by making love to a gypsy girl whose fiancee(?) has been killed, so that she will have a strong son. And does so, then goes off without any thought of taking responsibility for any child.

Vengeance demon with a job, and what wonderful potential for havoc. What specifically is her area of expertise, or is being M just something she does for fun?

I think it's simply a job that lets her fulfil a LOT of people's wishes, one way or another, and as you say cause lots of havoc.

This is what I don't quite understand - the title is "retribution," and I use the word "vengeance" twice in the first section, but nobody seems to have spotted that ending coming. Thanks for the kind words.
