I like it. Can't wait to see what all you do with this series. :)
Comments from author:
Thanks.
Right now toying with ideas for a sequel. Not exactly sure how it will happen, but I'd like to have Xena come to the future.
Just have to be patient.

Review of chapter "Chapter Twenty-four" from RevDorothyL
Review:
Poor Gabrielle, having discovered that all her "knowledge is power" sermon was most likely lost on her audience, who would only remember "Gabrielle has power". Kind of reminds me of "Life of Brian", in a way -- showing how people sometimes miss the point or take away the wrong message from a divine or seemingly divine encounter.
Comments from author:
Happens all the time. Sometimes for the better, most of the time not.

Review:
Very fun and entertaining story. I don't know why you have included it in your series, since it really isn't part of the other series of stories. The only thing it has in common is Buffy crossing the time barrier and meeting Xena and Gabrielle. However, since you did link them, I went back and am re-reading the other stories. =]
Comments from author:
I guess I included it because, like you said, it had B&X meeting. If I decide to write any sequels then I'll start another series and include it.

Thanks for reading.

Ah, I want more hurt and comfort! (Grins) You sure did leave a cliffhanger in the last part. I'm glad Buffy's home safe and sound.
Comments from author:
A bit more to come.

I love it when -- on very rare occasion -- Ares gets to actually save the day.
Comments from author:
Most of the time he's the "bad guy" -- encouraging warfare and all the things that come with it: death, destruction, etc. But he was born that way and can't change his basic nature any more than Aphrodite or Hades can.
But that doesn't mean he can't sometimes do something helpful or decent.

Review:
Heh, neat stuff, I wonder how the wish'll be worded.

Buffy's still coming across as somewhat flat in dialogue, but the inner thoughts of everybody, especially Alara, is great :)
Comments from author:
Don't forget, Buffy is in a totally alien 'verse, to her. So she is deliberately not putting herself out there, so to speak, but rather, watching what is going on and commenting only when she's comfortable. Don't forget, when she made the comment to Alara, she was almost skewered with an arrow, so she has to be careful.

Review:
Hey, just wanted to say I'm enjoying the story.

And the whole Halfrek/Cecily thing, here's the deal. I'm just quoting Wikipedia, because I promise, it'll make much more sense than if I try to explain. Pretty much you hit it right on the mark with your second theory, that Cecily could have still been Halfrek when she knew the human William.

In the season 6 episode "Older and Far Away", Halfrek recognizes Spike and calls him by his human name, William. Spike also recognizes Halfrek, but when asked to explain this they both sheepishly deny being acquainted. This implies that Halfrek had previously been Cecily. However, Halfrek once told Anya that she witnessed the Crimean War (circa 1853). The timing of this event would indicate that Halfrek existed as a demon at least three decades prior to the adoption of youthful human form in Cecily. Joss Whedon and Kali Rocha have both made statements that Halfrek and Cecily were indeed the same entity.

Halfrek later appeared in Spike: Old Times, which established that she was 'on a job' at the time that William fell for Cecily. The night William became a vampire, she caused the deaths of the rude party-goers who had laughed at William's poetry.

Continuity-wise, the comic story takes place in Buffy Season 6, and assumes that an unsouled Spike briefly left Sunnydale and visited LA.
Comments from author:
Thank you for the info.

I never thought about looking for actual proof on Wiki, but for some reason I always felt that Halfrek was older than Anyaka. Spike did visit LA when Oz took the Ring of Amara to Angel at Buffy's request. I also remember Spike saying to someone in another ep that he "did the (whole?) L.A. thing" but came back to Sunnydale.

The only problem I have about the reason Cecily/Halfrek caused the party-goers deaths is that she hurt him much more than they did.

Anyway, thanks again.

Review of chapter "Chapter Eighteen" from RevDorothyL
Review:
Good job with getting the D'Hoffryn voice and attitude so spot on! I actually like the Alara-Halfrek connection you make, since I always assumed that Halfrek had to be much older than a mortal life as Cecily Adams would've permitted, in order for her and the 1000-year-old Anyanka to be such bosom buddies and relate so much as siblings (with all the jealousy and comradeship that entails). Alara's arrogance fits well with some of the less likable ambitious Amazons encountered over the course of Xena's six seasons, and her biting off far more than she'd bargained for and being forced to choose herself over the person she values most fits well with what we've seen of D'Hoffryn on BtVS.
Comments from author:
Thanks for the validation with Alara-Halfrek, D'Hoffryn, and the Amazon 'tude. One of the great things about writing ff -- many of the characters are so distinctive, it's actually fun having them do things they seem so capable of (especially the evil, mean, bad, and nasty things).
