Review of chapter "Chapter Twenty-One" from maxthehobbit
Review:
I've just reread this story again. There seems to be about two dozen stories I really like and I keep rereading them because some of the newer stories just don't cut it. This is one of the top five stories I've ever read.
I like the way Buffy is different, but not totally out of character, variety is the spice of life. I also like the way the action just keeps going and going, never a dull moment with just enough humor to make it interesting.
One small part I really liked is when Buffy realized what it must have been like to be Dawn, always left out of the fighting and feeling like she wasn't doing her part. That sort of sums up Dawn in a sentence. Thanks for writing and sharing this wonderful piece of art, not just a story.

Review of chapter "Chapter Seventeen" from DieselDriver
Review:
I just realized that I completely forgot to check crystalhall for any updated stories this weekend because I was reading "Going Home..." and was totally distracted from getting anything else done either. Nothing else has done that to me. I haven't missed reading their updates as soon as I'm awake on Sunday morning for a long time. That's how cool this story is.
Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thank you for the review. I was actually myself in the midst of re-reading "going home" too :)

This (and all of your fics on this site) is extremely well written, and I love this and its sequel. Buffy is so different, but she still retains that core 'Buffy' that makes her a wonderful character, and everything that changed was well developed. I hope you write more someday.
Comments from author:
Thank you but a lot of credit goes to the patient grammatical geniuses who betaed my horrible messes, I can only be held responsible for the plot I guess :)
I am btw still writing in fact I have been writing on and off but some of it is in Danish instead of English and nearly all of it has never left my PC. I some times try writing away plotbunnies (like a persistent Buffy/NCIS idea I had which I will never post or finish) and sometimes I throw myself into impossible projects. On top of that I have a full-time job that sometimes including international travel and/or long hours as well as my other hobby of being the Gamemaster for a steady group of pen and paper roleplaying gamers (which is where I get a lot of my storytelling experience from).
I have recently been writing a huge project which is basically a complete rewrite of all 7 Harry Potter books, but I am never going to finish it and I have pretty much decided to move on or shorten my planned texts to maybe only include a few of the years.

Great story. I liked the way you had Buffy be a little different than most stories. This is at least the third time I've read this and I thought I reviewed it before, but I guess not. I've only seen about three episodes of Stargate, but I liked the way Buffy entered in the Stargate story. One little thing ... The base here in Colorado Springs isn't Patterson, it's Peterson AFB. Patterson was in Ohio and merged with Wright Field to form Wright-Patterson AFB some time in the 1950's.
Comments from author:
Hmm, okay. That is likely to be right. I based my naming on the vocal sounds in the Stargate series and a few google searches. I am sorry about that.

Largely irrelevant to a great crossover but the nuclear threat idea at the end didn't seem very believable. While it is almost certain that the US would negotiate some accommodation with the rest of the world, the idea that the rest of the world could threaten a nuclear strike on the US is pretty far fetched. After all, that threat was old for both sides during the Cold War. Any strike would be suicide.
With other nations now knowing about the technology, how long would it take for them to steal it anyway? The US would have strong incentives to structure a deal while it is in the best possible position. Realistically, the US would most likely offer some type of international arrangement that favored its goals and probably offer that to individual nations. I seriously doubt the world would stay united and nations turn down access to advanced technology out of solidarity with the other nations. The deal wouldn't be completely one-sided or other nations would not sign and the US would lose the chance to get the best deal it could ever get and lose out on the resources of most of the planet in fighting off aliens.

I have just reread this story and it was just as good as the last time I read it.
Not to be nitpicky here but those replicators never had any ancient technology. So they could not have a zpm.
Comments from author:
But they could have. They had conquered the Asgard homeworld and acquired most of the Asgard technology. The Asgard had removed the Ancient database from O'Neill's mind earlier meaning that they either had or surpassed the technology level of the Ancients. I just reasoned that the Asgard simply had been smart enough and kept a copy which the Replicators had taken and added to their own knowledge and then (and here I am handwaving over the details) made ZPMs or better stuff for themselves.

Thoroughly enjoyed this series. Everyone seemed nicely in character, the extra scenes worked, and Buffy, while a super hero, wasn't over-powered. Great stuff.

"What! The! Hell! How many times...? Buffy, when are you gonna listen?" Jack yelled at her, "You do not pick up a gun EVER!"
Jack is a fool. So what if his kid shot himself? If he had taught his kid to use and respect weapons properly, it wouldn't have happened. Not that his society would have encouraged that sort of thinking with a kid that young, but other societies would have. He really needs to stop forcing his societal expections on Buffy? (Of course, in his place, having grown up in a similar society, I'd do the same thing - but I'd also be wrong.)
Comments from author:
Now there is a very interesting insight. I had never seen it from the angle but I find myself agreeing with you. I am personally not in favor of kids fighting in any kind of situation (I support all initiatives against child soldiers) but I do favor that if you're in mortal danger you have every right to fight back any way you can as long as it doesn't turn into aggression (the victim becoming the bully).

She nodded, seeing that Jack really believed what he had said. She was for some reason very tolerant of the differences between races, and she could imagine that the Tok'ra believed they had good reasons for all their actions. They were secretive... And a bit too conservative for her taste, but they were also -- as evidenced by their current situation --persecuted viciously, and they fought their war using secrecy, sabotage and insurrection.
Very well said! In terms of modern day analogues, it's like the Tok'ra are Israelis. (Well, Mossad for sure.)
Comments from author:
It does kind of seem that way and it is a very interesting angle to view the Tok'ra as such. You just gave me an idea for my lists of potential plotlines there.

“No... I... don't know why. I should be freaked, right? But I feel like I trust you. I don't mind, as long as you don't. And, well, I think... maybe I am hard to freak.”
lol... you write good dialogue. love the premise. pity it'll probably have a jack/sam pairing, but no author is perfect.
Comments from author:
Thanks, in a way it is Jack/Sam but really it is never carried through and with how the series progressed (the O'Neill character leaving) I would in any continuation of the series probably look towards a different pairing (in fact the pairing are the third most important reason I haven't written a third part yet the first being lack of time and the second lack of my muse's interest in SG-1 and indeed even Buffy fanfiction at the moment).

Review of chapter "Chapter Twenty-One" from PhoenixRe
Review:
It was pretty good. You inserted nicely the child-again-Buffy in the life of Sam, and frankly, the sweet family moments between them and the rest of the SG-1 team is what this fic is all about. There were scenes I was moved and scenes I was awed. Good story.

Thanks
