Heh, short answer is, I'm not sure yet. It takes place when A: it's in character for Jake to make the hard choice and B: it's at a time when one of the Animorphs knew for certain, before he/she opened his/her mouth, that the group as a whole wouldn't dismiss the idea immediately and think worse of the person for speaking. I think that B can be pinned down more firmly than A, it's at least halfway through the series that the hard choices concerning time travel and other such reality manipulations really start taking their toll on the group as a whole.

Beyond that, the backstory and therefore how AU these Animorphs are, isn't set.

Interesting. I like the darker aspect of the task Jake took upon himself. Morphing into a Yerk... the thought gives me the shudders.

I wonder if Angel and the others will ever know who helped them out...

Thanks, it was going to be a lighter fic but, well, I read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animorphs and their segment on 'Themes'. Plus the tone of the latter books.

That and an easier out probably wouldn't have been 'fair' :)


Will they find out? Heh, that depends on, among many things, where this takes place in the Animorphs timeline and if they've crossed paths with Buffyverse characters before. In short, the back-story.

In the case of survivors and a happy ending, those that remain of the Angel gang should receive the full scoop, or at the very least a variation on the 'Andalite Bandits' story ;)
