Wow, this fic managed to be angsty yet sweet yet totally in-character. Kudos. The idea of the Hellmouthy feeling translating into a Shaman power was really original and well done. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel!

This is wonderful. The type of guide that Xander has kind of fits him, nobody would suspect that of him/it. I'm off to read the sequel.

The irony of Blair telling Spike that he'd better hope he never dies because with his Karma, it's like boom. I love that part. It's just absolutely perfect! It's like that perfect icing rose on the perfect birthday cake that you get all to yourself.

I've seen this story recced before in many different websites. It was when I was in the first thrall of Xander and Spike hotness. Then I drifted for a while to come back to my roots of Jim and Blair. Well, I'm satisfied to say without sounding a bit facetious, you blew my socks off. My only lament is that I had not followed through with the reading of the coolio blending of fandoms earlier. You rock. As I can't seem to put words together properly to express my joy at your lovely, lovely fiction, I'll leave you with words of encouragement instead. You weave fandoms together like a poet with the rhyming and even the iambic pentameter. Please continue to cheer me up like you have today far into the future. My cat, I'm sure, will thank you. What with the ungrumpyness and all. So, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for that bit of yummy goodness. May all your future endeavors be eqally blessed.

Love the "I'd like to trade in my spirit guide for something more macho" bit. Nice conclusion, especially with Spike figuring out what Blair's mojo must be, without half trying. (And indeed, Blair always did make the teaching AND the learning look WAY too easy on the show!)

Fantastic. Loved the Kodkod and so glad you have marked this as a series and are planning on continuing the story line.

Xander and Spike learning to be together, and Xander learning to use his abilities on command is definitely something I am looking forward too.

I don't see nearly enough Sentinel/BtVS crossovers for my taste, and this one is really engrossing. I adored Spike's reaction to the child-abusing killer in the previous chapter, and the satisfaction that Jim derived from observing it. Spike as Xander's undead Sentinel and Xander as Spike's personal Shaman is striking me as a really inspired combo, and I'm not even usually a fan of slash. Excellent work on this.

Very cool. I went and found the original version of this story at The Wonderful World of Makebelieve, and then I read this version all the way through. While the first story was good, I have to say the update was excellent. The characters are much more three dimensional now, and the story holds together better. Thanks for posting the update here.
