Review of chapter "Hard Truths" from Jinxy
Review:
I agree, it definitely seems based off their exchange that they must have talked and worked together before that scene. I do agree that someone should have told Faith all of this from the very start. When she came to Giles and lied in season three that Buffy had killed Finch, he should not have told her he beleived her just to humor her. He should have stopped her, told her that he knew what had really happened, and that it was okay, that they could fix it and she wasn't a bad person. They all screwed that up so badly.
Comments from author:
I feel sometimes like I'm writing the same arc for Faith over and over - to give her some shot at redemption and the security of knowing she's a much more typical Slayer than Buffy. And YES - that bit of Season 3 is a huge part of why I write so much Faith and Giles. There was the real potential for connection and a growing respect between them there...and it was lost. Thank you for the kind words and food for thought! ~Ves

Now I want to know when this conversation took place did F& G, have sex three years earlier.

Because if so it feels too little, too damn late. And why couldn't he have said something to Faith, loudly at the time? Although maybe he did or how else can one explain the episode enemies.

But nice she got the encouragement, she should have received all along. Very good writing.
Comments from author:
Most of my Faith/Giles are totally unconnected. In this case, it just bothered me - that line about "You're doing a good job". It implied there was a whole conversation somewhere else and darn it, I wanted to know when!

Who knows why they didn't have this conversation earlier? We have every indication that Buffy is a very odd Slayer but that never gets translated to "So, is Faith the norm? And if she is - why are we letting her sulk about thinking she's the black sheep?". I can easily a see a sort of partnership between these two. Faith would never think she knows best, if anything - she would doubt her judgement far too often. Thanks so much! ~Ves
