Review of chapter "The End of this story" from Christy
Review:
Just found this, and I have to say, this is one of the best mixes of Buffy and Narnia I have yet to find. Fabulous work and it is rightfully going in my recs

Review:
This is very well done. And don't feel bad about the overtones being Catholic, it is Faith's story after all, and she would be Catholic, not Anglican. Aslan is Aslan, where your background comes from doesn't really matter. I think you stayed true to the series and to the Buffyverse characterization and melded it together into a story that works well and is true to the realities of life as well. Definitely worth reading again

Review:
I was impressed with how well you were able to tie Faith into a plausible (Narnian) story. Good flow, great match of tone and style for the CSL cross. Nicely Faith redemptionista.
Comments from author:
thank you very much for the positive feedback, further inspires me to write a 'Dawn on the Dawn Treader' one day.

Review:
I don't know how you managed to merge these two fandoms without making this a complete train wreck, but somehow, you managed. You even managed to include the religious overtones, while still keeping Faith in character with her trucker's mouth. I didn't even think that was possible! And I loved how you wrote this as a companion piece to 'A Horse and His Boy' without altering canon, or rehashing scenes that many adults know by heart.

Regarding the vulture & the cat -- Faith is one of those characters that walks a fine line; Fundamentally good; fundamentally flawed... and all too human, jaded, and a product of her experiences. And you wrote her beautifully.

I also loved how you constantly referred to Narnia as a Hell Dimension. That was just... funny. :)

Over all, this was a thoroughly entertaining fic. Bravo!
Comments from author:
thank you for such a kind and full of feedback review, I'm glad you thought I successfully kept the religous overtones as I meant the story to be a genuine tribute to Lewis.

Ok, never read the book, never saw the film. watched a BBCTV adaptation when I was younger, quickly worked out it was all Xian propaganda and lost interest!

However, I found your rendition quite entertaining. Some of the word-smithing seemed to be a little odd to me but I assume you were writing in the manner of the original story. My only change would have been to make Faith's watcher a woman called Elizabeth...ER?

Re: Reviews: Lord Protector? That's what England's only military dictator called himself!

Great story thanks for sharing!

All the best,
DaveT.

"Ok, never read the book, never saw the film. watched a BBCTV adaptation when I was younger, quickly worked out it was all Xian propaganda and lost interest."

I am flattered but puzzled that you wanted to read this work of talking beasts and mystic creatures then, Dave. The Narnian Chronicles are the most lovely stories to read as a child and even as an adult you should give them another go. Unlike Enid Blyton where one thinks 'hmm 'the Faraway tree' is not how I remembered' it.

Oh yeah, Lord Protector = Oliver Cromwell right? ER -yes I get that too. You love your puns.

Thank you very much for reviewing. The word strangeness I hope that was indeed because I was trying to replicate Lewis and not because I was in my omit all 'had' and 'was' phase.

Review:
Lovely. You balanced the two very different worlds very well. Narnia was shown in her splendor and Faith kept her personality. I enjoyed revisiting the richness of Tashbaan and the warm sunniness of Cair Paravel. Excellent job, and delightful to read. :-)

Review:
Very enjoyable, and it *felt* like a Narnia story through most of it though filtered through Faith's past experiences - a difficult balance to keep, but well done. The only thing I didn't like was the quick and hurried wrap-up at the end - it felt rushed unfortunately, and I'd have liked to see Mesuline survive.
Comments from author:
Thank you for such constructive criticism especially the ending being rushed as people often comment about that for the last chapters of the stories I write, so I'll work hard on my next one not to fall into that trap.

Sorry I bumped off Mesuline and thank you again for your review.

Wonderful. You completely took me back to my childhood . I adored these books (although my cousin [priest] had to point out the religion to me as it went completely over my head!). You nailed all the voices. Loved your description of the talking mice - couldn't stand them myself. I could gush for ages about how great this fic was. Fantastic.
Comments from author:

Thank you very much for your review, I'm really glad you enjoyed the story.

Reecipeep was damn annoying, a scrappy doo clone.

One other thing I meant to say in the earlier review: I really liked Faith calling Aslan 'Top Cat'! I went around humming the theme tune all afternoon....

Review:
Nice ending chapter no disappointment here. The wrap up with a report on the final disposition of all the main actors worked well, and was once agine in character for Lewis’s wrighting.

One point of order, Lewis wasn't catholic. It’s a testament to his writing that every body try’s to clam him but in fact he was protestant (church of England specifically i think....i've never been to clear of all the sudule deference’s between the protestant sects)

edit:Beaten to the punch
Comments from author:
I can't believe I stuffed that up! Ooh I'm furious at myself. Especially being a cultural Anglican.

Thank you so much for reviewing and all your help. And I mean it, if you'd ever want to co-write a Narnia story with me with lots of swashbuckling adventure I think it would be cool.

Review:
Yes I think you were a true friend of Narnia. I think the meeting of Faith and Aslan was very much in the spirit of C.S. Lewis. The one quibble I might have is that it was a bit too Catholic, Lewis was Church of England (converted from atheism). That was more a thing in earlier chapters and I did not comment as I did not have net access at the time. However, that scene with Aslan was perfect IMHO.
Comments from author:
Oh my god, you're right! I just looked it up on wikkipedia. I knew he was an atheist. But I mistakenly thought Tolkien was a Catholic first and I knew Tolkein converted Lewis. Damn, damn, and I was brought up Anglican too. Double damn, crap.

I looked up a Lewis quote site. Edmund's speech is Lewis's philosphisings because I didn't want to get the character wrong. Argh why couldn't they have had big letters at the top 'Lewis was C of E.'

Damn, damn, damn,

Thank you very much for reviewing.
