I remember one story long abandoned where Xander became a weaponsmith for the Slayers and he ended up training others to do the same.

This story, and the entire series...FANTASTIC.

True, but just make sure you aren't the ones doing the degrading because pay back is a bitch.

I really enjoyed this story despite its lack of the build up a single big bad. This story felt like an interlude of a sort, like you were putting all the characters in their places.

You did a good job of showing how the Slayer central was growing and how Buffy was ceding the day to day running of things to people with more knowledge in the different areas than her. I imagine that is going to bite her later in the story. Also I can'[t believe the Watchers' Council isn't trying to do something underhandedly to regain power over the slayers.

Again, good story.

A wonderful sequel to a great story. Your humour is simply hilarious. I love it.

Very entertaining story so far! Faith the puppet made me laugh when I remembered "Wee little puppet man!"

This is my third time reading through the whole series and am only just now relising just how many quotes you have thrown in here randomly. Its not a bad thing, just odd that I'm only noticing now.

There are quite a few quotations in there but the Fic itself is so long you might not notice ;-)

The writing in this part was good and improved over the first part.
However, in places the story felt unfocused and like it was not going anywhere.

Also:
- What happened to the plans to fetch Drusilla to get her as a seer?
- What about Illyria's claustrophobia? It kind of faded to the background without getting any resolution.

It was intended to be a feature of the next story in the series.

It's an ever-present background issue, not intended to be resolve. She still spends a lot of time out in the open air on the Hyperion roof as a result (many Illyria scenes occur up there in Compelled).

Still very much enjoying this whole series. I've recc'd it on my site and it's one that I'll definitely be coming back to again in the future. Your sense of humour meshes really well with mine and I've ROFL'd more than once. Having Faith become a puppet was inspired, for example, and had me in stitches (pun intended). :-)

This is a superb story. I always wanted to go back and change things about season 7 and 5, but I really didn't even imagine doing it quite this way...

My only quibble is that you didn't have Illyria somehow save Tara. But real life means that sometimes we don't get everything we want. It might have seemed too pat if we avoided every death or bad thing... Unfortunately, in wars, people die.

Going back another season to alter the timeline and save Tara too would have been a bit too much work I'm afraid. Besides which the original idea that came to me for Compelled was just the first chapter with Illyria showing up and beating the tar out of Caleb, introducing changes before that would have thrown the scene in my head out of the window.

this is really great. you totally channel the british and l just love the story and characters. they have lots of depth. i love how you are dealing with events to come like faith as a muppet. that was awesome!

Puppet Faith seems to be very popular, I did consider puppet Illyria but Faith was a funnier image in my head :-D
