I miss the fluff, but this was beautifully written. And the fact that John and Illyria are both immortal really makes me want to beg for a Supernatural/AtS/Firefly crossover, five hundred years down the line. Mal could totally be a future generation Winchester!

There had to be *one* serious story dealing with the death of John's sons. It was going to come up eventually! I felt it would be the thing that would push them to break that last barrier.
The up-coming sequel takes place in the Firefly 'verse. It's currently being beta'd.

Thank you! I think very little between John and Illyria could be anything but intense. Two volatile personalities sharing the same space? They have become my secret OTP.

Bitter sweet. But what, it took sixty or fifty years before they got it on? Sharing the same hotels for all that time. Washing her hair in the shower etc. John and Bluey give Mulder and Scully a run for their money.
Fifty years before Illyria stops feeling sex is base? I doubt that.
I've had flatmates get it on after only three months of passing each other the remote control watching television and sharing the communal grocery shop once a week.

True, but Illyria's not human and some debate whether John really is or not since he seemed to become a monk after Mary died. Seriously, a man that good-looking needs to be getting some action. I actually think it would have taken longer for them to concede to their baser instincts, but the death of Dean was the perfect opportunity to open the door. In my evil brain, this event doesn't even mean they start having sex regularly; it just opens their eyes to the possibility of it since, at least for John, eternity is really starting to mean something to him with the death of his firstborn.
