Great story! I read it in almost one setting, interrupted only by sleep, and it made me order the entire Veronica Mars series too.

the ending was a little prolonged, was really tempted to skip most of the episode guide, but didn't want to miss anything important.

The epic was finally completed! Huzzah! And this story really did turn out to fit all the definitions of the word "epic", too, so I feel I must use it despite how overused it can be these days.
The story was great and greatly enjoyed, and a lot of detailed thought obviously went into some sections and plottings, and the melding together of the two worlds was one of the best I've seen on this site. Enough that it makes me want want a sequel on the further adventures of Upgraded Veronica, though I'm pretty sure you're more than done with this idea by now and shudder at the thought of doing more. Oh well...

I liked the story a lot, for the most part. only the chapters with the 'episode guides' were a bit on the long-and-not-that-interesting side. While I liked that we were able to see what would happen after all Veronica's interventions, I still didn't think the chapters were that interesting to read. Still, great story!

I really enjoyed this story. By putting limits on what Veronica was and wasn't able to do, you removed a lot of the "change for change's sake" that many "drop a character into the Buffyverse" stories do. I also enjoyed your little insertions, such as "out for a walk... bitch". I think you definitely have the character voices down pat, and I love how important you made Backup to everything that went on.

I do think at times that you may have gone TOO big with the story -- bringing in all of Veronica's baggage, letting the "who raped Veronica Mars" angle just die out like that, trying to work all of Veronica's first-season story angles into everything... and then, the ending, with the final reckoning. I'm kind of curious if you started to realize the episode rundown was getting tiring to read (and probably write), or it was planned that way all along to stop after the lack of "The Gift".

Overall, as I said, I found this to be a good piece, nice and long (TWSS, right?) and, most importantly, COMPLETED. I think the final chapter (after we got to Universe Three) was done quite nicely, and I'm certain that Veronica is either going to (a) make things even better or (b) overthink it so much that she makes it worse -- which, of course, plays right into The Adversary's hands, doesn't it?

I don't normally review mid-story, but I had to pause and compliment you on your succinct synopsis of every LKH book from Narcissus in Chains onward.

BTW, she's said on twitter that no major characters die in Kiss the Dead, which means even more superpower laden hot guys with long hair and interesting eyes for Anita to sleep with.

I'm with you (and Veronica) Willow wasn't addicted but she IS self-taught and she approached magic like hacking, looking for shortcuts, without anyone around to tell her otherwise. Tho I do glare at Giles for *knowing* she's doing magic and didn't say anything about it until season 6.
