Review:
I *like* this view of Snape's thoughts - cold and clear, and just a little malice...
Comments from author:
Thanks. That's how I think of him: cold, hard and vindictive. It's not all there is to him, but it suits him.

Review:
Hum...For me, Snape not onyl persisted in erring, but he didn't want forgivness for the simple reason he wanted to believe he was right all along. That he was justified. Snape is one of the less likeable character ever, in my opinion, nor does he deserve the effort needed to summon hate. I would despise him, if i didn't just think he needs to be editor cutted. Or maybe just ignored or forgotten. For, let's face it, never has snape tried to do anything remotely human in the series, never has he recognized his faults, nor has he even made the effort to find the numerous fault anybody could clearly see in those he hated, but instead gave those persons the labels he must think, in some dark and deep recess of his mind, that he himself deserve.

my mid-afternoon rant :p
Sorry about that, too much tea.

See, Snape is actually one of my favourite characters - hell, he is my favourite character - and yet I find myself agreeing with some of what you say. He is certainly a nasty, horrible little man, who is very clever indeed and knows it far too well.

But it is wrong to ignore him. He is an important power in the series. What I wanted to show in this ficlet was that he can go either way. He's done some very distasteful things - some of which he regrets, some of which he does not - but he lives his life between a rock and a hard place, so he can't afford to be a nice guy. Given the opportunity, I doubt he would be anyway, but there's a difference between 'nasty' and 'evil'.

I can't agree that he ridicules others in an attempt to displace his own feelings of inadequacy, though. He's just a bit of a bitch, is all.
