Review of chapter "Reunion" from ShyBob
Neat story; solid plot with some great spots of crossover character interaction. I thought the Faith/Hammond interaction was cute, and the 'Buffy (seriously) wants to be a pilot' was a riot. Plus, Vi!!!

Enjoyed it muchly, but it seemed a bit too Deux Ex Machina - or whatever that's called - at the end.

Review of chapter "Deadline" from lucyferr
Why did Buffy et al have to get physically close to him when phoning him? For one, they're under a time deadline, and it takes time to physically get to him.
Comments from author:
She wanted to speak with him face to face but the shield prevented that hence the phone. It's easier to negotiate with someone, especially if you don't know them, if you can read their body language and they can read yours - a lot of communication is non-verbal.

Review of chapter "Ambush" from lucyferr
Therefore, Faith and George could no longer walk alongside the river...

every time I read a sentence like that, I think of the Weasley twins

“I take it slayers have better eyesight that ordinary humans too? Or am I just getting old?”
“Well, we do have better eyesight, but—”
“You can end that sentence there, young lady.

Faith gave up pretty easily in the end - weird

Review of chapter "Roundhouses" from lucyferr
They had been greeted by the SGC nightshift and one Riley Finn. He was, Buffy knew from experience, wearing his ‘we need to talk’ face. Of course, his case against Sam for leaving him behind was likely to collapse as soon as she found out that, in her absence, he and Graham had spent the night clubbing with the younger slayers. If only a vampire or two had had the common courtesy to show up and be dusted, he might have retained the upper hand.

oooooohhhhh ;)

“My report, sir,” said Carter, unable to keep an inane grin off her face while handing him a suspiciously single sheet of paper. Payback time, she thought.
Jack read aloud: “Went through the gate. There were trees. Flew around a bit. Found Ancient machine that sucks all the magic out of the planet. Willow went trippy for a while. Brought back some magic crystals and an old Gou’ald computer.”
“Ha ha, Captain.”

lol - Jack's reports are legendary

“No, just tell me. Firstly, what sort of trees?”
“Big pointy ones,” supplied Buffy.
“Big pointy ones of the sort she should not be allowed to fly over,” added Daniel.

...and by the way P38-008? What sort of name is that? It’s not that hard to think of names for planets is it? I mean over at NASA they even come up with names for the little rocks those Mars rovers find, even though they are only eight inches across, and exactly the same as the millions of other eight-inch-wide rocks that don’t happen to be where the rover landed, and you lot can’t even be bothered to name whole planets?”
...“My kind of goddess,” said Jack, “Angitia it is.”
“Sir, I don’t think we have the authority to do that,” warned Carter.
“Well, if anyone disagrees, we’ll tell them they can explain their objections to Willow, and, oh, by the way, she can turn you into a frog.”

“Frogs are just too cliché and unimaginative and, well, yuck. The duck-billed platypus on the other hand, could do with a boost to its numbers in the wild.”
“That’s a brilliant idea,” said Buffy. “We could solve the problem of animal species on the verge of extinction by turning annoying people into them: I vote we turn all the hosts on those late night infomercials into condors.”

i second the brilliant idea. Despite its limitations - condors in the wild don't get eaten enough.

“Ladies, can I interest you in joining us for a delightful lunch of meat-based product, items that may possibly be classified as vegetable and, of course, blue jello?” asked Daniel.
“Wow – you make it sound so appetising,” said Sam.
“I don’t know, Buffy seemed to approve of the menu this morning,” replied Willow. “Mind you, slayers will eat any and everything.”
“I heard,” replied Daniel. “When someone willingly takes extra portions from the base commissary, and they aren’t from the dessert tray, word gets around.”

“Hey Buffy,” called a gleeful Rona from the sidelines, “hope you’re not going to stop fighting demons just ‘cause a cute archaeologist walks into the room?”

We found mentions in some of the early entries of human slaves who were working inside the machine suddenly gaining god-like powers. The Goa’uld response was to kill all the slaves and Jaffa present.”

no lol

ps glad buffy has good taste in men - better than carter's anyway!

Review of chapter "Distilleries" from lucyferr
It has become a tradition that when the Pope makes a visit to a foreign country by air, the first thing he does on disembarking from the plane is to kneel down and kiss the runway. For a pope it would be normal behaviour, but for Daniel it was his first time.
“Fraidy cat!” was Buffy’s response to his actions.

So you like the way Daniel smells, Buffy?” teased Willow.
“I...ah...” It was Buffy’s turn to make with the spluttering.
“Getting back to the magic,” began Daniel.
“You mean there isn’t any magic between you and Buffy?” Carter wasn’t going pass by the opportunity to get in on the act.
“Give them time Captain, said Willow.

good one Sam

“See, that’s the good thing about wooden stakes – not much to go wrong. All it says in the instruction manual is, ‘Apply pointy end A to vampire B.’”

“I wonder if you get alien demons?”

wondered abt that

“I wonder if there are slayers on other planets,” countered Sam.
“Of course, that could explain the gaps!”
“According to Giles, there have been four or five times down the ages when there hasn’t been a slayer. The Council did their scrying but weren’t able to locate a slayer. Then, after a year or so, suddenly one of the potentials gets activated. They have never been able to explain it, but if it was because the active slayer was on another world, it would make sense.”

that's bad planning from the Shadowmen

Besides, if we left them on their own, who knows what kind of nasty things they could happen to.”

That was almost Pratchettian. (Which is a compliment, mind.)

Review of chapter "Departures" from lucyferr
Buffy particularly was pleased to be described as an ‘expert’ and had already made a mental note to remind her colleagues of this status as often as possible.

The majority of those members of the party that had now experienced both were in agreement that travel by magical portal was a much better ride than travel by technological portal. Willow stood to the side of the gate parting company with much of the meal they had taken in the base cafeteria whilst the gate was being checked out. Samantha Finn was also looking a little disorientated. There was one dissenting vote: they had to stop Buffy from trying to go back through to Earth for another go.

George couldn’t help but chuckle as he imagined Bra’tac’s reaction, were he to be told that a girl in her early twenties wanted to know if he was cute. “Well, he was born in 1864.” Her reaction was not the one he expected:
“So, I know a guy born in the 1720’s and he’s still hot. Well, not literally hot, on account of him being dead, or undead, but he looks good.”

good one

Being alert to the impending peril, Samantha Finn quickly grabbed Teal’c by the arm. Daniel wasn’t so quick on the uptake, and it wasn’t until a smiling Buffy walked over to him that he became nervous.
“Hi, I’m Buffy. Fly me?”

lol - though she did miss a golden opportunity to say 'Hi, I'm Buffy. Ride me?'

PS: nice to have a mission where women outnumber men 4 to 2. Would also love to hear Sam & Sam go out for a beer & have some fighting woman talk.

Review of chapter "Reunion" from Dapsy
Great story... I really liked interaction between the General Hammond and Faith... although Buffy was a tiny bit too childish(imho, of course), and no funny/overdone romances too, that is always a big plus. Not that I don't like them... but it seems it is rare to find a good one lately(imho again, of course).
Comments from author:
Glad you enjoyed it. Buffy may have been a bit childish, but she was there to add some fun to the story without becoming a complete parody.

Just discovered this story and I LOVED it! Great job with the characterizations. Very interesting story line. I loved finding a story that focused on Hammond. It was nice seeing how someone would write his character outside the SGC. Thanks for sharing this. :)

Review of chapter "Reunion" from Ddraig
I really liked this cross-over. I loved the Faith/General Hammond interaction, and the Sam Rilley and the slayers stuff as well.

I also liked the slightly sinister overtones to the thoughts of Houston, as well as the joke that paid off later!

On the one hand it was nice not to have loads of angst about aliens/demons existing from Scoobies/SGC (delete as appropriate), but I think I've read so many fics where there was loads of angst that I was expecting more of it! Not a criticism, just an observation!

Thanks for sharing your story!
Comments from author:
Thanks for your comments. I tried to steer clear of as many silly stargate crossover stereotypes as possible, hence, no angsty initiative-based military mistrust silliness and no Willow magicking the problem away.

Review of chapter "Roundhouses" from Kateydidnt
"AFOSI was the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, which was not as well known to the general public as its Navy counterpart, largely because no one had made a television series about it yet."
