Also, back when you introduced her instructor/sensei/sifu, I was half hoping it'd end up being Chiun from The Destroyer series. That would've been funny.
Can't wait to see how you're going to thread Wheel of Time into the mix.

The addition of Ethan to the equation gave an already-personal crisis that extra edge, and it should be interesting to see how Ethan’s presence impacts the rematch with Derek and the presence of Fenris; hope you continue this soon!

Andrew? Oh how many problems could have been avoided if Giles and Elliot had been honest from the start. Still, interesting story and I look forward to more.

And sadly it cuts off just as it was building up ominously! Well, I've enjoyed this series thoroughly so far, the old and the new parts, and I can only hope and pray that you and your muse return sooner rather than later with gifts of further wonderful chapters. Take care and thanks so much for writing!

Oh, that's not ominous at all... Just letting you know I've finally read the entirety of this series, and I'm definitely okay with more of either thread. Or another thread altogether, if that's easier. ;-) Took me a while to work up to Shadow's Waiting, given I usually /don't/ like to watch regular episodes of SVU, as mentioned in your warning. Eventually I decided I had to see the whole set, though, and I only skimmed a few bits. Here's hoping you're inspired for any of these again!

Of the ten cells, only six were occupied. This was where they kept those previously referred to as criminally insane – the psychotics, the delusional, the violent. All of the inmates were male. Most of them sat in their tiny cells, staring off into space, or rocking back and forth muttering to themselves. One looked very young. The others ranged in age from early thirties to late sixties. Some had spent more than half their lives in facilities like this.
Pretty weird system of ethics that allows people to believe that prisoners are better off like this than simply being executed.
