Good story. Too often stories ignore the rippling after effects of what the slayers et al go through. It was nice to see one that didn't. I also really enjoyed Faith's resurrection scene.

Tragic fate for our heroes, but you can't deny it's effective; EXCELLENT bit of work, to say the least.
A dramatic death for Buffy and Spike, an excellent exploration of the emotional state of the few survivors in the aftermath, closer ties forged with the surviving Scoobies and Angel Investigations, AND Faith's back as the ghost instead of Spike...
I'm not sure what I'd be more looking forward to if you wrote a sequel- the exploration of Faith's role in events in Angel's life or the consequences of his closer ties to the surviving Slayer organisation-, but either way you definitely have some EXCELLENT sequel potential here...
Keep up the great work!

A very well done story and alternate end to Buffy, and I usually don't like "dark" fics. Comes from being a total sap that wishes all my favorite characters would get more happies than tv series allow... But yes, good standalone, but also could be a great beginning to an alternate final Faith-infused season of Angel, which I would most happily read and comment on should the muse strike! And yes, my only real quibble is skipping over the details of the final goodbyes between the Buffy and her best friends, mentor, sister and forever lover. You really are one of my favorite authors on this site now. :)

I liked this story, though part of me would've wanted a heartfelt Buffy/Angel goodbye but then again I am a sucker for those kind of things. Anyway the ending sets up a nice possibility for a sequel. If you decide to continue I'll be reading.

I'd be clamoring for a sequel, but on reflection, I don't see much need for one. Having Ghost!Faith instead of Ghost!Spike might change a few individual episodes, but I don't see it changing the S5 Angel story arc -- at least, not the final destination. Lindsay wouldn't be able to use the "Dueling Shansus" scenario to distract Angel, but he'd still be pushing for the same goal, so...hmm.
Then again, I don't see Faith demanding that Buffy not be told she's back, and her presence might make the New Watchers' Council more inclined to trust the Fang Gang, which could affect the Illyria scenario...
Then again again, I'm up for anything you write, sequel or not. So just write what you write, and I'll read it. Okay?
(That said, I'd love to see more of Martian Manhunter...)
A really interesting (if decidedly dark, as you'd warned) alternate ending. Though I can't imagine Faith haunting and annoying Angel anywhere near as effectively as Spike's ghost did.

This story is great. You have LOTS of nifty concepts, and a wonderful grasp of characterization. I could *see* each person as you had them interact. "Survivor Guilt" has given me a lot to think about...
