Review of chapter "Chapter One" from
MariReview:
I love the Labyrinth and Firefly, and based on your earlier Goblin Queen River pieces, I knew I'd love this, too.
Your characterization is wonderful. Jayne bouncing back and forth between his usual crude demeanor and the occasional bit of completely unexpected prudery or wisdom. Very, very Jayne.
Mal--sure something's going on, and not quite willing to admit it. Worrying about being oxygen deprived before he finally admits to himself that things are weird again before trying to find solutions.
Simon. Poor, poor Simon. It's interesting that Jareth didn't really see anything to respect in Simon until Simon became . . . verbally aggressive.
And your River! It's got to take a lot of thought to make River both make both sense and nonsense at the same time.
Another wonderful installment.

Thanks! I love both Labyrinth and Firefly, too. I'm glad you enjoyed the characterizations, particularly River. It's been an interesting, and rewarding, challenge to write. I've got a vague idea about continuing this with a meeting between the parental Tams and Jareth, played for comedy, of course.

Cute pairing, she seems happy enough and should be able to live with her feet in both worlds.
Course everyone's going to be bugging her to 'cook' ;)

I did think about that--but I imagine a firm 'no' from River would have everyone convinced! Thanks for the review!
