I really enjoyed Xander and Spike in this! While high tensions and massive amounts of distrust make for some interesting plots, sometimes it's nice to have a neatly integrated 'okay, prove yourself. good job! let's do something interesting together' sort of plot. I thought the voices were very true as well (minus, perhaps, Anita's aggressive paranoia but no one necessarily needs full-on paranoid Anita all the time. That would be annoying). Fun read over all and it was nice to see a BtVS/Anita crossover that featured a well-written Spike+Xander combo!

These lines from one of the earlier chapters made me laugh out loud. Madly. Serious cackling:
“Don’t say it.” Xander held a warning hand up towards Spike.
“What?” Spike queried innocently. “You mean ‘bloody pouf?’ Why would I say something like that?”
It's such a Spike thing to say, especially when faced with the prospect of Poufy Angel 2.0. Fantastic.
I'm really intrigued by how this is turning out. Demons and extra-painful visions and Byron and whatnot. So far every qualm I've had about the story (Xander being irresistible, the Primal suddenly coming up, etc) has been dealt with within the turns of the plot, and I really like that. I also like that Spike and Xander aren't immediately an item... though I did like Spike's unhappiness at being Xander's friend (no swapping body fluids) during the earlier chapters. Hopefully Byron's appearance will wake Xan up a bit. :)
