Review of chapter "XVII – The Secret Keeper" from DianeCastle
Review:
I enjoyed it. And I'm perfectly willing to go with 'the willing suspension of disbelief' when reading a crossover between two entirely different magical 'universes'. :D

My favorite line: 'stakes on a a plane'. Followed by the Hugo Award.
Comments from author:
Thanks - I had a lot of fun with that one.

Review:
I found this story somewhat... disappointing. While the political background framework was well-done, the plot itself relied in just too many contrived coincidences, to wit:
1. Kendra "just happening" to be related to Dumbledore
2. Kendra's coffin "just happening" to get conveniently "lost" in customs for nine years, so this can happen after *both* series have ended.
3. It "just happening" the usual magical transportation is unavailable, forcing the use of Muggle transportation (Why? The coffin sat there for nine years, it could probably wait a couple more months and go through usual channels)
4. A team of Slayers "just happening" not only to be in the same flight as Harry, but choosing to take out a vampire in a crowded place (an *airport*, fer gossakes) *right in front of Harry*
5. Kennedy "just happening" to get the seat besides Harry's (she didn't behave like she did it on purpose) (although, to be fair, the plot didn't depend too much on this one coincidence)
6. The Slayer team "just happening" to see the coffin being unloaded, with the telling "Sunnydale" shipping labels.

Sorry, but it's just Too Much. The siege situation wasn't very convincing either -- it depended too much on both sides acting stupid to increase the tension. I mean, yeah, people do act stupid under stress, but there's something to be said when SPIKE comes out as the only calm and reasonable one, from BOTH sides.
Comments from author:
Sorry it disappointed you. The coincidences are there because it is otherwise very difficult to write a story in which two groups need to interact while knowing nothing about each other.

Review:
I've always enjoyed the humorous touch in your stories and the way you don't feel the need to shoehorn explanations in. Very funny and enjoyable.
Comments from author:
Many thanks - I hope everything was reasonably clear from context, I'm trying to avoid info-dumps where possible.

Review of chapter "XVII – The Secret Keeper" from MarcusSLazarus
Review:
The idea of Dumbledore and Kendra being related is a bit of a stretch, but it’s an interesting idea nevertheless- and you definitely come up with a plausible explanation for it-, and subsequent confusion as both sides try to claim Kendra’s body was kind of amusing, even if I think that the Slayers in particular should have been SLIGHTLY more willing to exercise patience after examples of past impulsive behaviour nearly caused so much trouble...

Still, the conclusion was satisfying, the reasons for the two organisations remaining separate allies certainly works, and the explanation for them losing touch makes sense; keep up the great work!
Comments from author:
Many thanks - I had a lot of fun with that one. Once I found out about the HP Kendra it was inevitable someone would want to write that version of their relationship, I'm just pleased I got there first.

Review:
A very fun read. Taking an entirely plausible off-screen plot thread and running with it hard and fast into supernatural comedy and action movie territory. Fantastic!
A round of applause for the author. Thank you for writing and sharing with us. :)

Thanks - glad you liked it!

Review:
This was very enjoyable read. The voices of all the characters sounded true and they had believable interactions with each other. I liked both Rita's near death and her final end. Great job.
Comments from author:
Thanks - I also killed her in Bring Me The Head of Harry Potter, if you like that sort of thing...

Review of chapter "XVII – The Secret Keeper" from Vigdis
Review:
This story is excellent. Everyone seems to be in (canon) character and the interactions are very believable. The pace is perfect. I hated to leave it, even for a few minutes, before I reached the end. And that was a remarkably creative way of dealing with Rita! I love it!
Comments from author:
It seemed a nice "poetic justice" ways to get rid of a character who can turn into an insect - in Bring Me The Head of Harry Potter I had her eaten by someone who had temporarily been transformed into a newt; it would have been a toad, but of course Willow doesn't like frogs and toads...

Review:
has too be the best Harry/Buffy crossover I've ever read loved the death of Rita and just about all other aspects of the story.
Comments from author:
Apparently I'm not the first author to have killed Rita that way, though I never read the earlier story - can't remember the details, but there's a link to the earlier story somewhere in the version I've posted on Fanfiction.net

That last line made me lol...Finlay someone killed off that bitch
Comments from author:
The weird part is that someone else had apparently used the same method in another story (not on TTH).

Actually I killed her in Bring Me The Head of Harry Potter too, although it happens more or less off-stage.

Review:
Started reading this one and it seemed very familiar, so I checked the reviews and sure enough, I had.

Still a great story.

James, who initially didn't want to look like an idiot for reading the same story twice. ;O

Thanks! BTW, why is this a private review?

I feel sad that I just forgot about Kendra and what might have happened to her remains. Feeling a lot better now that she will be properly remembered in Fan Fiction.

A great read - even for a non-HP fan.
