This might make more sense if I had any clue about the MAGIC game.
Having never played it (& never wanting to, even as a gamer) I don't have any frame of reference in regards to the different colors.
You need more explaination & back story to make this an interesting read.

Chapters one and two seem to be the same except for the authors note.

Based on the fact that there wasn't a category for this cross, it should be safe to assume not too many folks are going to be aware of all of or even any of the details of the character / world being written about.

In order for this to be understandable much more detail is going to be needed. Somehow the structure of the magic system, the capabilities of the guy Xander becomes, and background details for the various spells and creatures summoned are going to have to be included in the story. And once you have figured out how you are going to do all of that, please update the summary to let folks know you are going to give each potential reader all of the information they need to understand and enjoy your work.

I really enjoy the creativity that Halloween fic seem to bring out in authors, and I'd love enjoy this - I'm just going to need a lot of help from the author.
