Very interesting beginning. You've got me hooked!

Thanks for your review.
I am still working on the story this FFA is leading to - I am hoping it helps me jump start the conference story - I think I went bigger than I was planning for with the plot (this is why I don't like writing multi-chapter stories - I don't like getting LEFT hanging and I don't like leaving people hanging waiting on me to finish something...).
The new story is taking some time to construct because I'm having to reread things for back story and characterization (reread The Dark is Rising and The Time Quartet). I've got two separate pieces of the story begun and partially constructed, but the real world is currently kicking my tail right now, and since I do this for recreation, it takes a back seat to my real world responsibilities.

Cute. Too short for more, but it makes me want to read others in the series.

You ended it too soon...there's only one word that describes you....please quit teasing and write a really big story

I decided to go on and answer your review.
I don't usually write long stories these days. Real life for me has gotten extremely busy in the last couple of years, and I took a break from fandom for a while due to major illnesses in the family. I also tend to write shorter stories so that I *finish* my stories - I hate cliffhangers in the stories I read and in stories I write, and with what's been happening with me lately, I frankly don't have the TIME to spend on longer stories... I will eventually finish my stories when I can, but if you feel so strongly about "longer stories" - write the story *you* want to see from me.
That's what got me into fan fiction. I didn't like someone's view of how a story ended and wrote my own. Another time, I finished a story that someone else left hanging.
That's the thing about fan fiction. If you don't like what someone's done, get permission [if using someone else's characters] - and then write what you wanted to see happen.
Oh - by the way - I'm not done here. I will eventually finish it, as real life permits.
