ohhaa I think that was very unwise from Sam. Right now only X is pissed at here, but soon will be the whole council. I just wonder why Giles call got trough. Hope to see more of this soon.

I think that you really should have had this chapter as the first chapter of a sequel because the tone is completely different from the rest of the story. That way you could have also mentioned in the summary that Xander's family by blood is causing problems with his ties to his family by heart or something like that.
Col. Carter forgot that Ms. Kinsey was charged with *high treason*. Civilian or military, that charge, if you're convicted of it, is punishable by death (in fact, it's the *only* charge so punishable in peacetime against members of the military; so says no less than the UCMJ). That is in the US - the laws of the UK are largely similar, ifd not identical, on the subject. Jacob *shoulld* have reminded her of that.

Found this story again, read all the way through, and after a lot of thought decided to set tracking.
The chasm between chapters 23 and 24 was incredibly disruptive and disturbing. I finally decided, based on the previous chapters, to wait and see if the behavior changes would be supported within the story through flashbacks or some other mechanism. I hope so because this is a story I would very much like to see continued.
No matter what an author wants to do with a character - as long as the changes are supported within the story - its okay. Even if something isn't to a reader's personal taste it can be accepted if there is sufficient justification in the story and the other characters accept or tolerate whatever it is in a believable way.

I liked the story up until this most recent chapter. As it is I'm not sure how I feel about this development. The actions Sam took seem really OOC for me and I find it slightly unbelievable that Xander wouldn't have occasionally checked up on his friends even if they hadn't called him. I understand the need for plot devices, but the way it's been set up, I find myself feeling slightly uneasy. At the same time I can't really judge until I read where you plan on taking this plot development, so I'm looking forward to your next update.

WOW! Such an unexpected twist! Great update! I love the way everyone was trying to put Sam in her place, even though I tend to like her character. Can't wait to see what happens when Xander gets to London. :)
