Review of chapter "Epilogue" from Spica
Well, with this you took over the #1 spot on my list of stories with the most number of words for the least "storyworld" time covered. ^_^

Good story.
Comments from author:
Covering short stretches of time in absurd detail is my specialty.
Welcome to the (relatively) small club, of people who have made it all the way through that thing.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from Draenator
This is probably the best Faith interpretation I've ever read.

Thank you for posting it.
Comments from author:
As always, I respectfully salute anyone who makes it all the way through that novel.

You're welcome (of course), and thank YOU for the compliment (and they don't come much better than that one :-)

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from yakoba
wow. I really, really enjoyed this maaaaassive story, and I love how Faith finds her true path, redemption and friendship in the end, too cool!

and the whole final showdown in the yakuza headquarters was a masterpiece of mayhem.

I really hope you pick this story back up one day, it was an intense and phenomenal read :D
Comments from author:
Hey there, and congratulations on making through that monster of a novel.
::gives you a cookie... and a bloody katana::

I'm glad you liked it, especially that completely insane final showdown section (which is really waaaaaay too long and self-indulgent, from a writing viewpoint, but I just couldn't bring myself to shorten it, 'cause I was having too much fun ^_^)

There's actually a bunch more of that storyline sitting out there, sketched out and stuff, and I hope to tell those stories one of these days.

Thanks for the review, and also for the Rec!

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from SheridanNicMorrigan
This is one of the most beautiful Faith-fic I ever read! Like you, I didn't think the whole "saved-by-Angel" & "let's put a slayer in jail, that'll teach her" thing they did. It never made sense to me, especially when it wasn't all her fault, yet that's what canon says. It's wondrous to see her overcome herself and accept herself in your fic. I really do hope to read a sequel one of those days.

I know I'm naughty for not reviewing yet, but I loved this story!!
Comments from author:
Hey, thanks!
And one review is totally better than none (though of course one per chapter would have been nice ^_^)
(okay, a little too much work, I'll grant you)

Thank you for the Rec!

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from Marcel
Ok... I downloaded this story and read it on my ebook reader, which is why I haven't reviewed until now. It was... amazing. I would definitely like to read a sequel - you hinted to a lot of things in the prologue to each chapter, it would be very interesting to see those unfold.

I am definitely recommending this story.
Comments from author:
I can live with that! ^_^

If I can ever get my ass in gear, there are multiple sequels to this.
Thanks for the Rec; low Rec numbers make me feel I've experienced writer Fail.

Review of chapter "Prologue" from laoshi
So, I’ve been planning to review this story literally forever. Well a good two or three years now and I every time I tried to make a start I got daunted by the word count. I’m just going to take it one chapter at a time.

I’m sometimes guilty of hyperbole in my reviews but it’s been a long time since I read this story and I’ve read a wide variety of fics from some truly exceptional authors since then. So please believe me when I say that in my own humble opinion this is the best piece of fanfiction ever written, bar none, except no substitutes. It completely changed the way I thought about Faith and ruined me for less well written stories. Another reason why it was difficult for me to start reviewing is that I do have a tendency towards the sesquipedalian. I could go on and on and on about this story. At one point I even bought OUP’s A Very Short Introduction to Jung just so I could fully understand the Jungian undertones in Faith’s dream of chasing Buffy across that tightrope over the abyss. If Buffy Studies is getting to be a semi-respected academic discipline I might have been on the verge of inventing Dreamsmithology. But in the end the time commitment it would have required was just too much so I backed off.

One of my favourite parts of the story are the headers we get at the beginning of each chapter purporting to be quotations from various characters and invented historical figures. Frank Herbert employed the same technique in Dune and it has the same effect of enhancing the epic qualities of the piece. The Darkchild prophecy lets us no straight away what the stakes are: an end to the slayers, apocalyptic conflict and puts Faith in the heart of it. It feels a bit odd rereading this story because now it’s my favourite but reading the prologue for the first time I did have serious reservations and it took me at least a few chapters to warm up to the story. But boy am I glad I persevered. Whistler’s interlude is great. It enhances all the themes you set up in Elthessian’s prophecy. And there’s nothing really wrong with the introduction of Itai. You do a great job of with making him seem malevolent and his darkness inducing power is just plain cool. I thought this is another fanfic author whose seen way to much Anime and we’re going to get random Japanese culture for no apparent reason. I’d definitely changed my mind by the end of the story. The Storm of a Thousand years do make pretty bad ass foes.

Seriously, is there anything I can do to pimp this story? I will nominate it for any award you care to name.
Comments from author:
Hey, man.
The best piece of fanfic EVER?

That's flattering, but seriously there are a lot of flaws in this one, not least of all the horribly slow and wandering nature of the early chapters you mentioned. I've thought about going back to try and fix a few things, but I think I'd rather just let it stand as is.

And hey, I AM just another fanfic author who's seen way too much Anime!

As for awards--not going to happen. It's too long, too dark, too violent to appeal to the mainstream, even the off-center 'mainstream' that reads fanfiction. That there are people who have read it and loved it, few though they may be, is good enough for me.

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from Gideon
Well this certainly is a dark story! Faith is in a really Bad way in the first set of chapters. I must admit I kinda struggled through those but it kept getting better and better :) I think your Faith has a higher bodycount (of norms anyway) than any other fic I have read but she still seems to be a consistent and believable character. Well done! If Faith comes out the other side of this then perhaps there is hope for all of us ;)
I hope you are still writing in this universe.

Review of chapter "Chapter Eight" from DrDM
I'm liking this story so far. Fairly well written, good pacing. Not too fast, like a lot of the other fanfics floating around the web.

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from Caminus
Even I would've never thought that anyone could ever take Faith, drop her in a fortress along with 250 armed gangsters, not given her *too* much in the way of extra powers, and had her come out alive. (Apparently, Angel wouldn't have thought so either...) Unlike a lot of fanfic writers out there (and, you know, Season Six), you manage to keep a Slayer power set relevant in the modern day, which is just really nice.

In specific, the final battle, with all the detailed combat and the wonderful environment set by the changing locations, background chanting, and nifty "trick" was one of the best fights I've read in a very long time. You excel at making stuff in your universes cool.

On Faith's superhealing: even pre-non-Slayer, this seemed like a very reasonable extra power for her. She's always been all about reckless combat, and so it makes sense that one of her unique abilities lets her recover from the horrible injuries she sustains.

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from PEBKAC
While a bit darker than most stories I've read, I've gotta say this is one of the best written. Also an excellent storyline to help with the flow. I know you thanked us all for reading reviewing, but thank you, for providing such a wonderfully written work of art. Please continue this saga, along with any others you choose, and I will continue to read, which is the best compliment I can think to give.
