Review of chapter "Chapters 18 & 19" from dulcinea
Review:
Very interesting story. I think my favorite aspect of it is how Anya is portrayed. She's both the cause of the problem (for inviting Dorian to get his painting) and the first one to try to fix the problem (by arguing with Willow, unsuccessfully). It's such a sucky human kind of predicament to stick her in, and I think you did a good job of capturing that and not resorting to just a stereotypical Anya.

Review of chapter "Chapter 16 (of 19)" from (Past Donor)Vesica
Review:
This installment was a nice change in perspective. I really enjoyed the Buffy bit at the start; which is surprising since I rarely care for Buffy POV. Will have to hurry and catch up my reading. I am still troubled by Willow’s naivete in this fic but I certainly think that is an established aspect of her personality. Just don’t think we have ever seen it explored to this extent before. Nice work – it is certainly making me think. ~Vesica

Review:
This fic is so upsetting. Don't get me wrong - you are writing it brilliantly; that's why I'm upset. It is like watching a train wreck in progress. I want to reach in and slap Willow a few times. Only four more parts? I have a sinking feeling this one might not be headed toward a shiny, happy ending - which is permissible, of course - but a tissue warning would be nice! I am getting way too emotionally involved with this fic. ~Vesica

Review of chapter "Chapter 13 (of 19)" from (Past Donor)Vesica
Review:
“Do the books excite you more than I do?” I can't tell you the number of times I've been asked or the number of times I have answered incorrectly with "Well, which books are we talking about?". I was happy to see Anya come off her high horse - not that she did not have every right to be there, but I was getting a little worried about her bitchiness. Willow is in deep. I am curious to see how this one will end - the friends saving her, Dorian pushing it just a little too far? ~Vesica

Oh, Jinni, the bit about the dolls gave me chills. You've done a very excellent, subtle job of winding Willow down that path, and watching her destruciton while distressing is a bit exhilirating--waiting for the rest of the world to catch up. I very much look forward to what's coming next.

I like the dark side of Dorian that you're showing in this fic. Very subtle. Neat.

I'm also intrigued by the fact that you're showing the dark side of Willow's obsession with learning and books physically addicting her. We rarely see the dark side of such addictions mentioned in any kind of fiction. Its refreshing to see it here.

Your Dorian is being a very naughty boy! "Mile high club" indeed! Willow isn't the only one blushing! This fic is a great read and it is interesting to see how you are working with what we know of Willow's proclivities for magic abuse. Part of me wants her to snap out of it and see how expertly she is being played but I fear that would be out of character for her at this point. You are keeping me on the edge of my seat with each installment! Great job!

Oh. Willow's getting in over her head. Can't wait to see if a) she figures it out, b) someone comes after her, or c) some other twisted plot explosion that your devious mind has come up with. Excellent part.

Anything involving Dorian looking all pretty and scheming can’t be all bad! I am enjoying this but I am beginning to worry about Willow. The ‘flying high’ on dark magic part rings true but she is not nearly as alarmed by some of Dorian’s more heavy-handed moves (like the passport). Our little Willow is nothing if not canny – where is her internal danger alarm? Is it broken? It will be interesting to see where this one is heading. Heartbreak and a wounded Will or *insert smirk here* a badly bruised immortal shuffling off to lick his wounds after messing with the wrong chiquita?

As I read your story, I wonder if Dorian is also under-estimating Willow a little - in terms of what he thinks is "corruption" versus what Willow considers adult free will.
Looking forward to see what you do with it.

Not too fond of LXG but like your writing and characterizations of the Scoobies, especially Willow.
So on checking out this story, seems like I'm going to be sticking out for the long haul.
If you can sneak in a Highlander cross over, I won't mind.
Meanwhile, looking forward to seeing what you do with the plot and the characters in this one.

I've just started this story, but something puzzled me about the start of chapter 2. How did Willow learn Dorian's last name? Anya just said "Dorian" in the first part.
